So happy about the sing-a-long even if some don't sing-a-long. I would be crushed if Adam had not been included, lol. Nice opportunity for people to hear him sing TSMGO to a wide tv audience. Great for us fans and great for those who may not have heard him sing any of these songs in concert. I hope he will be able to do it his way (haven't watched this show before). And he already performed WWRY/WATC beautifully at the Oscars so it will be nice for him to rock a beautiful dramatic ballad this time. Don't really care how the others perform or what they sing but if this special gets Adam on tv then I'm fine with them giving it a go. HA.
Adam is on a roll. He is everywhere and I love it!!!

I'm listening to the Tale Dark and Grimm zoom webinar, and they just said that Adam auditioned for 3 parts, and they could easily cast him in each of the three.

My first reaction? This is pointless! Adam Lambert has already done the quintessential versions of all these songs in concert. These other artists may be good, but they cannot measure up to what Adam has already accomplished. And, no. I am not biased. He IS that good! Not pointless. Even from an entirely Adam-centric POV, it isn't pointless. Look at it this way - there are going to be people hearing Adam sing Queen for the very first time. People who don't follow Adam, or QAL, but think the special sounds like fun, or fans of other featured artists who will tune in for them, not for Queen per se. That alone will make it worthwhile. I'm always happy when people outside the Adam/QAL fandom bubble get the opportunity to see and hear Adam get up there and own a Queen song - or any song, for that matter. Honestly, there are other performances I'm looking forward to as well. I think it'll be entertaining. But an artist performing a cherry-picked Queen song well does not mean that artist could perform the whole wide range of the Queen catalogue just as well. The ability to do just that is what makes Adam the Champion he is. |
