Thanks, pom, but no more boards for me! I would say that Daughtry's 5 milion first album helped with album 2 and 3s reception. I don't think that is going to happen for his next album. Yep! I think its sales was a major turn off, apart from that type of song ( rock ) not working no more on Top 40.

I refuse to angst just yet, but you might see some major angsting on my part tomorrow night after all the adds for add week are in. For now, I just don't think we have enough information. At this point, TBH, I am not expecting 20 adds/day today and tomorrow, but it would be nice to see a big market adding, especially someone like Z100. This would signal the way for other smaller stations. Dunno, have to wait and see what happens. This is a good song so I will be disappointed if it doesn't do well, ngl. I do not expect Z to add tomorrow (though it will be great). I do hope Q102 or Kiss 108 Boston will add tomorrow but even if they don't it is also O.K. as long as they continue to spin and increase the number of spins per day.

I don't care what Kelly or Daughtry are doing or have done. I refuse to worry about something I have no control over. I believe that Adam will do well, one way or another. The universe is looking out for him! I believe Adam would do well too afterall that is why we are here stanning him and watching his spins. My write up has more to do with the unfairness of US radio i.e. why some artists have to work for every 1 spin and for others it is a given no matter how crappy (sp) the song is. I know the feeling, it's frustrating. But I do believe that the magnitude of Kelly's and Daughtry's earlier successes helped pave the way for them with radio. Adam did have a hit with WWFM, but not a MAJOR/amazing era. I agree with mys*&@^#r that Daughtry will have a much harder time next time with radio, because their past couple of eras are not doing so well. As to the new artists like Jessie J, it's true that now radio spins the hell out of her song, but she's had to really fight for it. This is like the third single with which JJ is trying to break in the US. The first one was Price Tag. It was a really good song and it even featured BOB and everything, written by Dr. Luke IIRC, and still didn't go anywhere with US radio. And Domino has been working at it and going up the charts for months now, it was a slow climb. The other part of it is: even though BTIKM is a very good song, it's not an instant smash IMO. So PDs need a little bit of convincing. I think the label chose BTIKM because it was the best song on the album most similar in style to WWFM, and I understand their reasoning. It's easy to say now "why didn't they release Cuckooooooo?" but hindsight is always 20-20. It's very possible that American radio would have rejected Cuckoo as too dance-y and not fitting their image of what Adam's single should be, refused to play it, and then the label would have wasted an amazing single. This is not an exact science unfortunately.

I don't know who you are on twitter, but I do read tweets from Saga and Stardust. I would never group them in with the yesberts I was referring to! Perhaps I should have said the "hysterical, negative-Nellie yesberts"? Seriously, I respect those who follow the charts on a daily basis and give us realistic, calm impressions! Some of those chart-watchers (and they aren't members here at ATOP) need an IV of Prozac or Zoloft! : I take exception to your comments about yesberts. We have a variety of personalities, opinions and feelings, the same as any other group in the fandom. Overall we're a fun group. Before you go spreading negativity yourself, you need to check your facts. Sorry, but the "hysterical faction of the yesberts" are well known in the fandom. I know my facts because I have seen the same ones spreading the gloom and doom over twitter for the last couple of years. My apologies for saying the "yesberts". From now on I will call them the "hysterical, bi-polar, sky is falling chart watchers". Or HBPSIF chart watchers!

Didn't Perez make some sort of snarky comment about Mr. Know It All being a flop? I hear that song every time I turn on the radio now. I don't know why people expect all songs to soar up the charts the instant they're released when it's far more usual for a song to take months to be a hit. If I remember right, Kesha's Tik Tok took over six months to reach #1. We all get worried and impatient but I think we expect too much.

This is not an exact science unfortunately. Price Tag bowed out at 12 on TOP 40 and that is giving it a good chance on the radio as far as I am concerned. Domino is only her 2nd US radio and yes, I am aware it is been out since August. This means of her two US singles, the two have both charted. How much support can a foreign artist get than that?. Adam not having a major first era was no fault of him though. Isn't it the songs that get spinned and heard on the radio continuously that sell? The ones having no 1 singles and so on have them because radio likes them enough to give their song a chance. Remember how long it too Cumulus to add his songs? How would the songs rack up sales and also album sales if they are not receiving much radio play? As for the quality of BTIKM, it is not worse than Bruno Mars's and as far as I know, all his songs topped out at the very top of the charts. The guy basically strums his guitar and sings HAC songs. USA radio established him, hence why he has been able to have the world wide recogniztion he has been benefitting from as US has a major influence on the rest of the world. In my country for instance, they hardly spin any song that is not already a hit on US radio. That is how pricky and dump the radio pple here are. And I am very sure, Adam and his label played it this safe with the first single because, didn't FYE bomb because radio refused to play his fast pacing song? See how far IIHY went on POP and they dropped it off as quickly as possible as if they were relunctant to play it at first unlike WWFM. I don't have any blame for him in this own thing and it is US PDs I am angry at.

I like the back & forth, glass half-full, glass half-empty discussion here. We can't all be doom & gloom and we can't all be sunshine & lollipops. We're individuals and we're not sheep. One more little gloom for me - the PD of my Top40 station (B104, WAEB Allentown PA) has left the station to go to Detroit! He was a big supporter of Adam's & really liked BTIKM. B104 was one of the first to add BTIKM. And that was while the PD was still there.

I am wondering if the fact that (evil, homophobic) cumulus buying clear channel last year is going to make a big difference in what the clear channel stations play. It seems like Adam had a lot of clear channel support last time and I hope that continues.

I'm trying to look at it as a positive. But he was my "link" to the station, so I'm wondering if the support will continue.
