NGL I'm a little disappointed. All of the U.S. HAC stations have reported in and Adam got only 4 adds from them today (he got 7 adds in total). So, to date, 18 (out of 92) U.S. HAC stations have added BTIKM.
On another topic, Is there any connection between a song's performance on Itunes and a station's decision to add a song? BTIKM has slid back down the Itunes chart after the TV bump it got last week. Is it possible that PDs are looking at the lack of sales and thinking that BTIKM has no buzz and/or interest among the public? Hope not. Any thoughts?
(Really trying to not angst, but the result today has me a little concerned.)

Did any of you see the exchange on twitter with a couple of Adam fans and a female PD? She's with KISS 98.5 Buffalo. She has some really upsetting things to say about BTIKM and it's chances on radio. Depressing as hell.
She is not an Adam hater btw. She likes him - and that makes this worse.
Just a couple of the things she said:
The reviews from actual critics are not good. Only 131 plays in the entire country this week, 31 of those overnight
pretty much everyone I know in programming is disappointed. It won't go very far up the charts. Unfortunate because I'm a big fan of him as a artist!
Is it better not to see this stuff? I don't know. I'm just putting it here to keep it real.

I refuse to worry. The song has only been out for about a month, and a good portion of that time was during the holidays. It's too early for angst. I remember so much fretting over WWFM, with some people saying that it was dead in the water a couple of months before it hit the top ten and went platinum. I'm sticking with the belief that BTIKM is going to be even bigger. It's just not going to happen overnight.

I'm kinda going along with what bullsfan said above. They may be wanting to push him in the UK first and if that's successful hopefully that will help him have more credibility with US radio. I think US radio is not going to be the ones to help him be successful here first because of homophobia and idol. I'd like to be wrong but that's just the way it's always looked to me.

I'm just putting it here to keep it real. So she's an expert? She's done a study? Anyone can say anything. I'd like to see the statistics that led her to this conclusion. ETA: Just decided that the Numbers thread is not the place for me. Too much anxiety here. What will happen will happen and I don't enjoy the doom and gloom. Back to the Daily News thread for me. |
