Did any of you see the exchange on twitter with a couple of Adam fans and a female PD? She's with KISS 98.5 Buffalo. She has some really upsetting things to say about BTIKM and it's chances on radio. Depressing as hell. She is not an Adam hater btw. She likes him - and that makes this worse. Just a couple of the things she said: The reviews from actual critics are not good. Only 131 plays in the entire country this week, 31 of those overnight
pretty much everyone I know in programming is disappointed. It won't go very far up the charts. Unfortunate because I'm a big fan of him as a artist! Is it better not to see this stuff? I don't know. I'm just putting it here to keep it real. I hope now TPTB know not to have a Claude Kelly song for the first single. |

We have to sit tight and see how this plays out. It's very early in the game. Promo just started. In another month, we should have a better feel for how this will go.
I don't discount what the PD said. That may be her opinion and it may be shared by others in radio. But there are always those who do not like a song or do not like an artist. We have yet to see how many will embrace the song.
If it doesn't take off, it does not mean the end of the world. From all we have heard, there are numerous singles to choose from to try again. Let's not forget that WWFM was successful after FYE flopped.

Wasn't there 200 spins on the HAC tracking site for today? If so, the this # isn't correct. I'm not getting this |

Well, that's depressing. The lead-off single generally gets a huge push from the label, and if this is the best they can do...WWFM started off stronger.
And if this PD has all this info---did anyone care to share that with the label?
I'm cranky--- at this point just release Cuckoo to the flailing, gushing Brits and see what happens. Maybe it will carry-over to the US.

I'm just putting it here to keep it real. So she's an expert? She's done a study? Anyone can say anything. I'd like to see the statistics that led her to this conclusion. ETA: Just decided that the Numbers thread is not the place for me. Too much anxiety here. What will happen will happen and I don't enjoy the doom and gloom. Back to the Daily News thread for me. Murly, it's just her opinion, not based on fact. Unfortunately, she IS a radio PD, so her opinion counts. And she is also talking about the opinions of other radio people, so that makes it hard to hear. Ngl, this is hard. *kicks stone* I need a drink. Not losing hope though. This is the opinion of ONE radio person. TBH, many times radio people are like sheep. If the song had the support of the bigger stations, they would fall in line. I'm just hoping RCA is seeing this and taking action, either by working main radio stations or switching singles if necessary. We don't really have their inside info. There might be PDs who really like it, from important stations. Then again, there might not be. It's a roller coster, such is the life of an artist, and hence of a stan of an artist. |

OK now that I've gotten over my initial shock here..
This isn't a bad song so I refuse to believe stations won't add. There are plenty other stinky songs on the radio and they play them.
where is RCA pull???? Maybe we are jumping the gun too fast. Wait until tomorrow w adds before we get the worry beads out.

I'm not getting this I'm also wondering who are the "actual critics" that gave BTIKM a bad review, according to this PD. I know that EW gave it a C+, but I thought Rolling Stone was positive. Did anyone ask her who she is referring to? |

I think a lot of press was generally positive about FYE, too. It was the actual PDs, apparently, that didn't like it. (And as I said before, it always makes me nervous when the artist and writer are on twitter telling fans to request)
This could all pick up, but right now it feels like a big RCA fail.
