Totally agree that as you get older, it gets harder to pull off that glam look. You start to look like a caricature. And that goes for anyone in my opinion.

In my opinion, I confess to finding the moral overtones to suggestions that one should settle into drabness and minimal decoration because they have passed a certain age is upsetting to me. Smacks of the old "cleanliness nest to Godliness" persuasion or the patriarchal ageism that tells older women to fade away...or gay men to be more subtle/masculine so they can fit into the background...Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and if someone feels good in something...then I admire one who has the gumption to wear ..or not...whatever they like.
I am sad that I have to cut back on how I would like to dress and wear make up...I have dry eyes that water steadily so makeup just does not last and mascara is a real irritant. I have also gained enough weight over the last decade plus that the fashions often just do not flatter. And then there are those pesky masks. But...trust me, if I were still going out and about as pre-covid and did not have the eye issues, I would be one of those silly, desperate folks [projection anyone], I suppose. I am still considered pretty aggressive in many of my fashion choices too..and I really hope I don't ever get to the place that I feel I have to change my choices because of other's opinions. I truly admire the person who marches to their own drum..and that drum is not better because it is grey or beige...a red or purple drum is pretty too. I am personally very drawn to bright colors. TI feel there should be no moral attachment to whether one wants to decorate them self or not...in my opinion only...

Thanks, LindaG23 and others for your input on Adam's fashion/fitness. He is certainly young enough to keep himself fit and healthy and look good onstage. Some of us don't prefer his boxy outfits. I agree that as we get older we have to make adjustments in what we wear. Adam loves high fashion. He also knows full well how good-looking he is. He likes being complimented on his looks, although he's quite humble about it. He's used to being the handsomest guy in the room. Guys much older than he is manage to keep fit, too. We all love this guy for so many reasons. He likes to change things up a lot. Hope his next phase is one that shows off all his best assets.
Thanks for the Otter Pops explanation. I've never heard of them. And I agree that Adam may be making a queer reference. He likes doing that.

mszue, I agree. There should be any "rules" about fashion at any given age. The best fashion shows off the best you have. It have even be very over-the-top. Adam is sure like that. There is also a fine line between what works and what doesn't. Seems like some fans like him in a sleeker look. We'll see how he looks for QAL 2022. He's still a babe.

I think Adam is making a queer reference with otter pops. They come in uniquely different colors (and shapes) I agree. As a reminder, www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=otterotter
A gay man who is very hairy all over his body, but is smaller in frame and weighs considerably less than a bear. "Larry is an otter, and he likes to date bears or other otters."

I'm almost 70 and my attitude is more of a "I will do and wear what I want to". I've earned that right. I have purple/pink hair, wear eye makeup and do my nails in glittery polish. For Vegas, I had glitter on my face and hair and prefer very bright colors. The kids at work tell me they love it and my grandkids tell me I'm their "cool" grandma. In fact, they call me Rockin' Gran. I still work out but am no longer svelte, just healthy. Let Adam be Adam.

Not sure why fans hoping for more stunning Adam looks for us to flail over is a problem. We have been doing that forever and Oliver's style, that some flail over, is no substitute for Adam, lol. Some have always liked some of his looks over others. Nothing new there. HA. Less makeup is not a code for more masculine. Adam is clearly a man no matter what. Less heavy eye makeup makes most people (male or female) just look better, imo. Adam wearing stylish and great fitting outfits, without heavy makeup does not make him look uncool or make him less gay. But he is a celebrity and being very handsome, edgy and a style icon have been his brand. If he is no longer interested in that, it is his choice. But he is not some everyday Jane or Joe where it does not matter how you look or what you wear. He is a star who is still relatively young and probably wants to continue to be noticed for his talent as well as his good looks.

lol mszue , you have me pegged. In my presentation, I am a very monochromatic person and I have always been this way. All the prints in my closet are just gathering dust. Now, I like to think that my personality is a little less dull and at the very least, I like to have lively conversations with myself and I am so witty. It's probably not a surprise then that my age rebellion was to decide that I didn't have to do any of that extra adornment. Me, myself, and I only may find Adam's style discordant but I still admire him very much.
