Ok Toby Knapp. We get it. We understand that YOU understand that blogging about Adam generates a lot of clicks. So glad you finally understand that fact after TWO FUCKING YEARS. However blogging a few lines about a fans fucking TWITITION is beyond transparent and a touch desperate. I roll my eyes in your direction. [nods head is agreement!] But I still agree that Adam SHOULD sing the NA at the Superbowl! He was born there -- and is the most famous singer from Indianapolis. But the NFL inviting Adam to sing the NA --- not likely.

I roll my eyes MAJOR for this guy since day one, but I keep my mouth shut and I'll try to forget his past behaviour IF he plays BTIKM.

The organizers are fully aware that the Super Bowl's audience is international and far supersedes your basic football demographic. I don't get why people immediately assume prejudice.

Cassie, regarding the ASL/Singed English interpretation of BTIKM, that was pretty rough. You have to give him credit for trying. I loved the car classifer being used to interpret "wouldn't know which way to turn". He appears to enjoy interpreting songs and his vocab/grammar knowledge is a bit short.
I am a native signer (hard of hearing person/ 30ish Deaf members in my family, including my parents) and I have pondered how I would put some of the concepts of BTIKM into ASL. I am not a ASL singer, so I don't think I would do it perfectly, but I can see when others haven't.
If someone in your class does it well, if you assign it for extra credit, please ask them to post it to YT if they are brave enough. It would be good to contrast and compare the two. Signing songs is difficult at best. These video often make me cringe, translation is difficult business.
I love the work that have been done to make Sauli's blogs work in English. I feel that I am getting to know him, not just for this thoughts but for his temperment and general outlook on various things. He does appear to be a very positive person and a wonderful match for Adam. Of course, what I know about both of these men could fill a thimble. Thank you to all of the Finnish memeber of this board who help to make these translations possible.

Plus we have that random tweet to him that makes NO SENSE AT ALL. So I am gonna say he is singing the NA and am fully prepared to be totally wrong lol

(and I wish I could choose my words more carefully here...but ...) I think Adam could be recommended... but a petition....now that is getting cray cray.

And Toby included this in his post!Oh did he?? (I didn't click.) LOVE that version! I couldn't stop listening the other day and I'm not even a huge fan of the SSB. Chunkey and I were also playing Grassy Knoll the other day when that Sales Director for Ball State University Athletic Dept. (in Indiana), who tweeted he had spent the afternoon watching Adam Lambert videos. Turns out the guy was on a committee that helped bring Super Bowl to Indianapolis. Oops, misremembered this from speed-reading. HE wasn't necessarily, but some Ball State alumni were. I do think that tweet from official Super Bowl twitter was not random. How did they even know Adam was born in Indianapolis if they didn't research it? It's not a widely known fact, really.
