They only give BTIKM a 3 stars.. whateve... BUT I love what they said about his voice "SUPERHUMAN VOCAL RANGE".. hahahaha.. guess not many singers have his vocal range Comment by Maureen underneath the review, giving the reviewer a D and the song an A... Maureen Holley: The reviewer kind of phoned this review in. Missed the great syncopation on the beat. Missed the lovely piano coming in counter to the melody line. Missed the sensitive interpretation of the lyrical content. Right about the falsetto, but forgot to mention the rich vocal tones in the lower notes. Oh, and not auto-tuned. This song is sung by a really good singer. I'd give the song an A and the reviewer a D. Would have liked a 4 star at least, but honestly the comments section on these reviews make me die a little. Often I can recognize the same 5-7 glamberts...we really do him no favor by writing these comments. It really must be a joke amongst reviewers....*sigh* |

I'm only on p. 5 but when I saw the Billboard score of 83 for BTIKM I wondered how it compared and looked back at the reviews and noticed that Adele's Rolling In The Deep was given an 81 on 12/3/10...and we know how that song fared |

Thanks guys! That was great! He sounds so happy!!!! Sauli sounds happy indeed. There were some questions in a previous thread (yesterday?) whether there has been a change in Sauli's tone lately. I found it interesting since that was exactly what I had thought myself (I'm a native Finnish speaker despite my current living location). He has sounded stronger, more confident, genuinely happy and balanced. I thought that maybe it was just me being overly enthusiastic and optimistic But apparently other people have noticed this as well. Often wonder/ed if it can be a little hard or frustrating for Sauli when living here as a shadow (what I mean is that in Finland he is a celebrity in his own right and has fans) but here he is in Adam's shadow as just another person who happens to be Adam's bf - and for so long hardly a mention by names... I would think Sauli likes some limelight if he tried out and won Big Brother so doesn't seem like a leap to wonder if he ever needs to have his celebrity ego stroked too. He seems to be getting more open about things - and well, his life does include Adam, so to try and hide that in blogs was getting sort of silly. Since their return I too see a shift. This latest New Year's dinner blog with a photo of them and sharing about their meal wouldn't have happened six months ago - IMHO. Also notice in the photo Sauli looks as tall as Adam and he is the one with his arm over Adam's shoulder - seems like a little Alpha going on there for him. What am I trying to say... perhaps he wants a little more leeway to have some open celebrity here in the US and since he lives with Adam they need to figure out how to accomplish this. So funny that Adam has his career on a lock-down while Sauli seems to have fun blogging about things. I often wonder if some of the Finland scuffle had this dynamic at play. Yes, ONLY speculation and the rambling of someone that knows nothing so take it as such - just a wondering that came to mind. |
