Cassie, I think that's a great assignment for your students! Gelly (or anyone), Jesslala's avi (Adam kissy-face)--do you know where/when that's from? I want to right-click-save that sucker! Thanks! It's from his birthday.

Sorry if this has been posted... song review from Billboard www.billboard.com/news/track-review-adam-lambert-better-than-i-1005768152.story#/news/track-review-adam-lambert-better-than-i-1005768152.story"Better Than I Know Myself" the first single from Adam Lambert's forthcoming sophomore album "Trespassing," attempts to replicate the winning pop-rock formula of the singer's breakout single, "Whataya Want From Me." That song, from the former "American Idol" finalist's 2009 debut "For Your Entertainment," included an unstoppable hook and an unflinching vocal performance to serve as its foundation. While "Better Than I Know Myself" is not as immediately overpowering, repeated listenings amplify the untamed vulnerability that has become Lambert's defining asset. Producers Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Ammo provide a ground-swelling chorus, but Lambert shines in the intimate verses, singing, "I can be obnoxious at times/But try and see my heart" before the final climax. Like any talented pop artist, Lambert understands subtle reflection as well as epic bombast.Love it.

Thanks Aloha! That is a FANTASTIC review! from Billboard, no less! ;D
ETA: Forgot to ask--Sauli's blog says he may take 15-20 questions to answer for one of his future blogs...just curious what peeps would ask Sauli if they had the chance?
My mind's a blank--too tired! Only thing I can think of right now is "What music were you listening to on your NY Day morning jog?"

Uploaded by JeremyNeidererMusic on Dec 29, 2011 "Better Than I Know Myself Adam Lambert Sign Language Music Video For The Deaf And Hard Of Hearing. Jeremy Neiderer Performed This Video Also Not Own Anything Of Copyrights Also Supporting Adam Lambert's New Single Coming Out Trespassing Album! Enjoy." O. M. G. STOP. Just STOP. This is the Google translate version. A word for word translation that loses much of the meaning of the lyrics. Lots of wrong concepts and terrible grammar. And you know how when Google comes across a word it does not know an equivalent to, it simply keeps the original, untranslated word in the text? Yeah, he does that, too. This is just all kinds of wrong. If a student of mine did this she would get a failing grade. Having done a lot of music interpreting, I am almost tempted to make a video of a good translation and load it onto YT. Or, hmmm, use this version in class as an example of how NOT to interpret music, and award the students extra credit for developing a proper translation. That's an idea! May I suggest extra credit for the student who makes a video of a good translation and posts it on YT?
