I just remember way back during the Idol days and his audible gasps for air (which I think were mostly for effect, like the opera singers you mentioned) and the tongue thing for the high notes (although he was still riveting). Has this guy come a long way or what… Sometimes I wonder whether the powers that be who were producing Wicked in LA with Adam in the chorus and never gave him the lead role now lie awake nights and go, “how on earth did we miss THAT?”I've thought about that too. I don’t think „the boss“ of Whicked and Adam really missed that. They knew Adam, but they decided that his very strong voice was best used for carrying the chorus/choir. They liked it and found that the ensemble needed him more in that place than in a leading role, which other guys could play as well. At least that’s what I remember from an interview with someone from that musical. |
