Did we ever find out what VOD extras were?

As my husband, who is the musician in the family by far, said, “How does he do that and make it look so EFFORTLESS?” And that is really the question. I haven’t watched too many operas but they always seemed to be working much, much harder than Adam is here…it’s like he just opens his mouth and this AMAZING AMOUNT OF GORGEOUS SOUND just emerges.
I am gobsmacked.
