should we be doing anything on the Hit Predictor? Is BTIKM one of the songs? (I did the rating about a week ago..)
How often should I be checking them and rating?
ETA: I am in total ZEN camp, agree with every word by cassie and craazy and savvy and everyone else who is not worried...

OK, I'm coming out of major lurkdom because things are finally starting to get exciting  My thoughts on BTIKS and the UK---I think RCA picked a HAC song to open the era (nothing wrong with that, no angst) and it will probably have a tough time in the UK unless RCA has done some big-time behind the scenes work. I think this song may also have a bit of a tough time on on many US CHR stations. It is a great song and should really kill it on HAC; and certain CHR stations---like Z100---will love it. But it may not get much play on some of the KISS stations like LA and Chicago (kind of like Kelly's MKIA). I do think it's a smart song to open the era; especially if they follow it up with something more edgy and CHR-friendly, kind of like what RCA is doing with Kelly. Basically, there were probably better choices for the UK. But, I am going to trust that RCA has a plan, and they will get there. Anyway, I love this site! And it is SO good to finally have things start heating up. |

I think after Era #1 most of us know that Adam is a slow climber. I was hoping (dreaming) that this Era might be different and he would shoot to the top immediately. Sometimes it gets stressful and it would be so nice to have the artist one supports have instant success with little effort from fans. I guess it ain't gonna happen with Adam and I have to adjust my expectations. I'm getting there.
As someone up thread said he is way beyond what he was before Idol and has undoubtedly exceeded his own expectations. He will always be able to make a VERY good living in his chosen field because he can do it ALL and he has the respect of so many in the music industry.
Having said all this I still feel confident that BTIKM & the entire album will be very successful - maybe not GaGa-Bruno-Katy successful, but how many are?

Chicago Bulls! So, yes, I'm in Chicago. Which also means that I probably won't be hearing Adam on the radio until March (and I'm only kind of joking).
I have been watching Adam since AI. I actually used to post a little back when we had PF.

I actually used to post a little back when we had PF. Yay - another Chicagoan! Welcome Yeah, based on last era, not having high hopes for hearing Adam on the radio here. The mix/lite type stations played WWFM a little bit, but no where close to high-rotation like some other parts of the country. I keep ~trying to listen to our Kiss station, but it is so awful it is hard to do. Way more rythmic leaning than stations like Z100 (which I listen to in my car on satelite radio) and truly annoying DJ's who talk too much. I think maybe those of us from Chicago are a little more zen - in a weird way, we are used to not hearing Adam on the radio and we know the WWFM was a hit song even though it wasn't played here. Obviously, other songs can be hits without being played here.  The only thing I can think of to do here for radio is keep requesting BTIKM at the Mix during their 8pm "UMixIt" thing. I don't ask everyday (sometimes I'm doing RL stuff and just don't get to it) but I asked for it to be added to the list 4 times last week and I'll keep that up. I have no clue if it will do any good, but I figure it can't hurt.... |
