I forgot to mention that I really like Sauli's new shirt. Gray is my 2nd favorite color I also appreciate that he took note of my whining and griping last weekend (otherwise known as National Make Sauli's Meatballs Day in the U.S.) and included some vegetarian ideas in his blog as I had hoped. He's SO considerate. I will try to make those carrot pancakes this weekend :D

I hope this isn't an unpopular opinion. I don't say it to be controversial. But I kind of hope Adam doesn't do a big charity event for his birthday this year. The charity:water event was amazing in its success -- I'm sure it's a big topic in development offices at non-profits everywhere. But as a fan activity it left an awful lot of nice people feeling hurt.
Something went awry with that effort and I still can't put my finger on what it really was. I loved the interview on "The Talk" but I will never forget the sinking feeling I had when Adam had to be prompted about charity:water when asked about his birthday.
Starts about 4:00:
Not to be all new-agey, but somehow that flow of energy, that "infinity" between Adam and his fans, was blocked on this effort. Perhaps the mental or emotional energy was just not there to feel the depth of the outpouring. This is just my personal feeling, but for me the circle between Adam and his fans still doesn't feel complete from the 29th birthday, and I don't just mean those damn pictures (not a factor for me personally as I could not afford to donate that amount).
I hope that whatever is done this year is not some kind of crazy blowout with a huge goal. "Give to the charity of your choice and send me the receipt" would be my choice. JMO.

popcrush.com/adam-lambert-vs-jason-mraz-sound-off/ADAM LAMBERT VS. JASON MRAZ – SOUND OFFby: Cristin Maher The Glamberts have done it again! Adam Lambert defeated Train yesterday in one of the most overwhelming victories we have seen in the Sound Off as of yet. Lambert’s new single ‘Better Than I Know Myself’ knocked Train‘s latest release ‘Drive By’ out of the running with more than 90% of the fan votes. Now Lambert will face off against guitar-strumming crooner Jason Mraz and his new tune ‘I Won’t Give Up,’ which is currently at No. 1 on iTunes’ Singles chart. On both of these tracks, Lambert and Mraz deliver their own variations of a love song, with both of the men singing about the difficulties one can encounter in a romance. Mraz’s voice is emotional and sort of beautifully frantic at times on the slower, stripped-down track, which is about trying your hardest to salvage a broken relationship. Lambert also sings about a relationship on the rocks over beating drums and synths — bringing his song full circle as he pours his heart out to his lover with impressive falsetto notes during the chorus. So, which song left a lasting impression on you? Vote for either Adam Lambert’s ‘Better Than I Know Myself’ or Jason Mraz’s ‘I Won’t Give Up.’

I have no idea what you are talking about, so I can't agree with your reasoning, but I agree with your idea. Adam having a huge charity money drive while having a huge drive for people using their money for buying his music might not be the best idea. The projects would clutter each other and take space away from each other, in the levels of fan participation, media attention and earning venue. A good time for charity could be between the promo push and the tour preparation.

Wow! "perception is everything" I guess. I can't think of a charity effort that was more successful than the charity:water one. So confused by your post, juniemoon. Adam has done a charity for both his BDs since we have known about him, so I expect one this time too. It's his way of asking fans to not send him gifts. I don't think having a new single out has anything to do with the charity efforts. He had a new single and album out in 2010 also. He did mention in a recent interview that he likes Charity:Water and Donor's Choose and might just go with those again.

Woah!! the boys look awesome...I loooove this natural look! So new hair again. When Sauli aksed for questions he might respond to on his blog, I actually asked .... of course my question was not chosen... if he drove a car in Finland and would he be condsidering updating/getting a license so he could drive in the US. Now I want to know the answer even more. Sauli has a Finnish driver's licence and with that he is able to drive a car in the USA without any extra procedures. Oh thanks for answering those questions. EDIT: now my questions below were actually kinda dumb as I reflect on family and friends who have rented cars while touring thorugh Europe...duhh.. I was not sure...if he drove since he is such a walker, and I also was not sure if one drives on the opposite side of the road in Finland. So one does not have to take any driving test if from Europe?[/b]
