Just because unfinished songs were played at the listening party does not necessarily mean that the songs are unfinished.
Just sayin'.
It could be paranoia about leaks causing them to not show the full hand just yet.
ETA:
And I think that whomever called the album cover being half light/half dark Adam like the painted skull over his fireplace is bang on.
