Watching the Taylor Hawkin's Tribute Concert and boy, do I miss hearing Adam performing with Queen! Haha…not sure if you meant “as you listen to all those diff bands/singers”… true! But re just the Queen portion…yes…lol! But the whole group Queen concept was truly wonderful…great instrumentation, and arrangements. I had misty eyes re Live of My Life. Thought they would close with that….very fitting. Brian and Roger always do themselves proud…their iconic songs help too!

Reminded me of the drum line at The Queen's Jubilee. They ALWAYS put on a spectacular show!

A bit OTT.. I watched the Elvis biopic yesterday and felt really sad for the "King of Rock'n Roll" - had no idea that Elvis was pretty much broke by the time he died. I think the movie is done really well and Austin Butler did a great job. Of course I thought about Adam a lot. Thankfully, he seems to be fully aware of the dangers of mismanagement and being taken advantage of by the "industry". I enjoyed the movie so much. Austin was really good. It seems when the young (teens) sign they are the most taken advantage of with these awful contracts/managers that are hard to get out of. Kesha I believe was 17. TLC were also teens when signed. With Elvis, it was also the huge weight gain and drugs all made him a caricature of himself. He was so unhappy. And his team did absolutely nothing to help him. They only cared about the $$$.

I enjoyed the Queen collection too...but they would not have dared have Adam sing.....I have never heard such a collection of really deficient singers in one place in my entire life!! Seriously....Adam would just have made them all sound even worse than they already do....just WoW. And when is somebody going to tel Paul M to just rest on his laurels before people quit even being polite.....yikes....sad to see and say..

Oops, should have guessed that. Yeah, he doesn't sound good. I tried to listen to a more recent video because he has some die hard fans on another board, and I just couldn't. But I never liked his voice to begin with, so there is that. He's always sounded really nasally to me and I don't enjoy that. I realize and can appreciate that some of these singers keep going out of nostalgia and because they love performing, but if you're not a fan to begin with, they just sound awful...looking at you, Rod stewart.

Plus most of the music had nothing to do with “singing” imo. I expected more from the guy that sang STL though. I felt bad for BRI and Roger tbh and I was internally annoyed/sad Adam couldn’t make it even though he seemed to be in London. I was watching on MTV YouTube channel and at the time queen was on there were 365K viewers on that platform alone. Over 400K when sir Paul was singing. Rufus looks so much like Taylor Hawkins, at least from the distance.

Just because I was interested in the singer who performed a shortened lyric version of WWRY at the Hawkins tribute. I thought he did that part rather well. I found him likeable, and he opened for the Foo Fighters somewhere along the way. Guess he was cut from a couple of songs to one.
“The Struts lead singer Luke Spiller will perform “a couple of Queen songs with Queen” at the upcoming Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts … “I owe so much of where I am right now to him, from getting the opportunity to open up for the Foos … even coming to L.A., and sort of laying roots down here, which, again, was life-changing, and probably something that I wouldn’t have done if he hadn’t encouraged it,” Spiller said of Hawkins…”
i have not heard Paul McC for some time. Courtesy reigns when a legend sings.
