According to eri from twitter. :D eri9 Eri Yay we have a new word!!!! oofta.wordpress.com/about/ 9 minutes ago Favorite Undo Retweet Reply oofta.wordpress.com/about/Oofta uff dah ufda oofda This website is dedicated to keeping this word alive and a part of our language. An expression used by people of scandinavian heritage…when they are overwhelmed. Can and is readily exchanged for such expressions as wow, oh my goodness, ouch, oh my God!. Examples. Oofta, I¢m tired! Oofta she is so dumb! Oofta, this oatmeal is burned. Oofta this house is a mess. Oofta I¢m glad the grandkids have left! Oofta that¢s a big load of timber! Wow... Well, Finland may not be officially part of Scandinavia, but we're pretty close to it, and I have to say I have never heard that expression, in the above mentioned meanings or otherwise! But what do I know... ;D I know the expression well. I grew up in a part of the U.S. with a large Scandinavian population (heritage). As kids we didn't know that it was a regional word and that other Americans did not use it.

Ugh. Brian insinuating that Adam somehow "lost" a gig he was probably never even in the running for seeing as how this it totally tied to NBC's promotion of The Voice is so irritating. And only possible because he somehow made a story out of a fan twitition. Fan twititions for gigs are such a bad idea when they're for someone like Adam who gets media attention for the most random stuff sometimes, and this is Exhibit A why. No one would be saying anything about it if fans had just stayed out of it and trusted DMG and RCA to know way more than the fans about what gigs are even possible and what will work best for their complex rollout plans. Either Adam or RCA is actually good at letting us know when our fanbase power is needed for something that matters for Adam for whatever reason. They've used the RCA twitters and AO, and Adam himself has simply told us of things to rally for. Kelly is performing at the Grammys too, I hope fans have learned their lesson and do not start some ridic twitition for Adam to perform on the show that just ends up biting him on the ass later.

Impossible for me, but nice to know my friend thought of me.
Who is going to see Adam next week on the Leno show?

I don't think the fan campaigns bite Adam in the ass later....they are ridiculous to be sure but IMO they just show how much passion Adam's fans have for him. Brian has a knack for turning the smallest thing into a negative towards Adam.

A cell phone went off in church one night at a very inopportune moment in the sermon. It wasn't the first time a phone had done that, but Pastor Bob smiled and commented, "That better be God." It didn't happen again for weeks. Sometimes people need a little nudge, like being humiliated in front of 3500 people, to realize the rules apply to them, too.

Brian has a knack for turning the smallest thing into a negative towards Adam. He's getting articles written in USA Today and other media outlets about it and has already had to field an awkward question about it a radio interview which will probably happen again, all about a gig that he was not even up for. While I'm sure he takes it all in stride, it's not helpful and he shouldn't have to deal with fans trying to micromange his career.

I don't take the Brian Mansfield thing as anything really negative. Had I read that in my paper this morning, I would have thought "good for Kelly, hopefully Adam will get to do that someday". IMO, it's more about which Idol got the gig than about who is better. If not for the AI connection, who the hell would care about who was singing the NA at the Super Bowl? I said that wrong. Of course people are interested in who is singing it, but the who is the better Idol factor raised the ire of die hard Idol fans, thus the hits and attention. Kind of like the "who is your favorite AI contestant" polls. I didn't get the "Adam got beat out by Kelly" vibe at all. Had there been previous press that he and Kelly were both being considered, then it would be a Kelly won kind of thing. As far as fans doing a twitition, I think it's kind of cute and funny. They're passionate and know he would kill it, so they tried something. It wasn't the nasty comment type bombardment campaign, was it? For all we know, fans of other artists did the same thing. The fact that the press picked up the one for Adam is a win IMO. Wherever his name is mentioned somehow turns into news. And I also don't think that because Adam is not into sports, he would turn down the offer if it ever happens. I'm sure the dude loves his country and the international exposure would be awesome.
