According to eri from twitter. :D eri9 Eri Yay we have a new word!!!! oofta.wordpress.com/about/ 9 minutes ago Favorite Undo Retweet Reply oofta.wordpress.com/about/Oofta uff dah ufda oofda This website is dedicated to keeping this word alive and a part of our language. An expression used by people of scandinavian heritage…when they are overwhelmed. Can and is readily exchanged for such expressions as wow, oh my goodness, ouch, oh my God!. Examples. Oofta, I¢m tired! Oofta she is so dumb! Oofta, this oatmeal is burned. Oofta this house is a mess. Oofta I¢m glad the grandkids have left! Oofta that¢s a big load of timber! Wow... Well, Finland may not be officially part of Scandinavia, but we're pretty close to it, and I have to say I have never heard that expression, in the above mentioned meanings or otherwise! But what do I know... ;D [laughs] My family uses "Oofta" all the time, but none of us are Scandinavian. I swear I thought it was YIDDISH!! ;D

Ugh. Brian insinuating that Adam somehow "lost" a gig he was probably never even in the running for seeing as how this it totally tied to NBC's promotion of The Voice is so irritating. And only possible because he somehow made a story out of a fan twitition. Fan twititions for gigs are such a bad idea when they're for someone like Adam who gets media attention for the most random stuff sometimes, and this is Exhibit A why. No one would be saying anything about it if fans had just stayed out of it and trusted DMG and RCA to know way more than the fans about what gigs are even possible and what will work best for their complex rollout plans. Either Adam or RCA is actually good at letting us know when our fanbase power is needed for something that matters for Adam for whatever reason. They've used the RCA twitters and AO, and Adam himself has simply told us of things to rally for. Kelly is performing at the Grammys too, I hope fans have learned their lesson and do not start some ridic twitition for Adam to perform on the show that just ends up biting him on the ass later. I don't think the fan campaigns bite Adam in the ass later....they are ridiculous to be sure but IMO they just show how much passion Adam's fans have for him. Brian has a knack for turning the smallest thing into a negative towards Adam. I never read his stuff but do people call him out for his negative slant on Adam?

Want to thank the bunch of you on the end of the tread yesterday for passing on links to Adam's Leno interview. Can always count on this group for sharing!!
Was a time that being on the Tonight Show meant you'd hit the top--must have been intimidating for him, but as always he was incredibly likable and funny. Can't wait to see him there again next week! I am sure he will be just as good and even more confident.
ps. Am I the only one that thinks Sauli's new pic (see blog) looks like he's dead? Such a gorgeous guy, who belongs in front of the camera, but this is far from the best pic IMO.

Just got an invite to come out to LA for the Leno show next week! Impossible for me, but nice to know my friend thought of me. Who is going to see Adam next week on the Leno show? Wish I had friends like yours! I tried for tickets but got confirmed for an alternate date, which I will now cancel ... :(

Brian has a knack for turning the smallest thing into a negative towards Adam. He's getting articles written in USA Today and other media outlets about it and has already had to field an awkward question about it a radio interview which will probably happen again, all about a gig that he was not even up for. While I'm sure he takes it all in stride, it's not helpful and he shouldn't have to deal with fans trying to micromange his career. We don't known that he wasn't up for it. Why wouldn't he be on short list? By past performers, we can surmise anyone on RCA or w Idol affiliation would be. Notice Adam did nothing to dispel the rumors. He is very good about squelching anything he doesn't want out there. He never said a word, handled the question about it beautifully and left the door wide open for future consideration. I think he was on short list, but cross-promo for these things will always win out. Now more then ever. The networks have become rabid about it. I was very confused as to why The Voice pimping hadn't already started big time w the SB. I guess I wondered too soon, because they sure busted it out yesterday.

I can't stop thinking about Underneath and how Adam's voice might sound on this track. I have a STRONG feeling that I'm going to adore this song even if I heard only seconds. What's new hear huh? Nothing I'm just sharing it with you. Also I'm dead tired. I slept only 4 hours last night and just half an hour ago my boss left and I took a nap downstairs at the studio but it didn't help at all, lol. How am I going to survive during promo? !!!!Haha. I haven't been sleeping much more than 4 hours a night either. Well maybe 5-51/2. Too much berting to do. But I feel fine so I'm going with it!

I don't take the Brian Mansfield thing as anything really negative. Had I read that in my paper this morning, I would have thought "good for Kelly, hopefully Adam will get to do that someday". IMO, it's more about which Idol got the gig than about who is better. If not for the AI connection, who the hell would care about who was singing the NA at the Super Bowl? I said that wrong. Of course people are interested in who is singing it, but the who is the better Idol factor raised the ire of die hard Idol fans, thus the hits and attention. Kind of like the "who is your favorite AI contestant" polls. I didn't get the "Adam got beat out by Kelly" vibe at all. Had there been previous press that he and Kelly were both being considered, then it would be a Kelly won kind of thing. As far as fans doing a twitition, I think it's kind of cute and funny. They're passionate and know he would kill it, so they tried something. It wasn't the nasty comment type bombardment campaign, was it? For all we know, fans of other artists did the same thing. The fact that the press picked up the one for Adam is a win IMO. Wherever his name is mentioned somehow turns into news. And I also don't think that because Adam is not into sports, he would turn down the offer if it ever happens. I'm sure the dude loves his country and the international exposure would be awesome. This too. I'm not a fan of twitions and didn't sign, but it was harmless, resulted in publicity and at very least, planted a seed. It would be one thing if it was Kesha or someone not known for power vocals and then got a lot of backlash, but I think most people said, "Huh, that would be interesting. He certainly can sing..." Although, I do think it's impossible to completely remove Idol element, seeing as though four of last five singers were former Idols. they really do need to break the female lock on it one of these days though...

And as far as pimping goes = Super Bowl, last year the SB was on FOX and the Glee cast was all over the place (except for Christina's NA!!)

I'm not disagreeing with you...I'm just saying that almost all artists have overzealous fans and Adam is no different so it's not a poor reflection ON HIM per se. As for him not being "up for" the gig well we don't know who the NFL was considering prior to making their decision so it's next to impossible to say absolutely that he wasn't in the running (though likely he wasn't since statisically speaking females sing the NA at the SuperBowl far more often than males do). Either way, there's no more harm in Adam being asked about singing the NA at the Superbowl than there was all those questions about him possibly fronting Queen. At least not in my opinion.

Really really LOVED Adam's interviews yesterday! Such great info on Tresspassing, so intrigued by the light/dark themes. Adam is so upbeat and positive in his public persona, it is hard to imagine him having dark moods and difficulty in handling himself. But he is human, and is bound to have his ups and downs like all of us. He must have superhuman strength to be able to keep up the glowing persona all the time.
When do we think he will start interviewing with US DJs?
Has Ryan Seacrest said anything about BTIKM, Tresspassing, or has he played the song yet?
