I have felt that Sauli and Adam have reached a new level of commitment to each other. I felt the shift before the incident in Finland. I noticed a change in Sauli. He went from cute to hot in a way that most of us had to acknowledge. I think that was an indication of an internal shift in him, more confidence perhaps. He allowed himself to shine more brightly, in a picture or two he, I think, outshined Adam.
I know in my own dating history with my husband, there was the initial 'will this last' worries and then almost unspoken, things shifted. We could depend on each other and knew that we had each other's back. Then decisions and how we 'moved' together became much more intuned and easy.
I wonder if they passed that point in the past few months. I wonder if being bi-national made that point take a bit longer to come to, even though they were living together. Going home to Finland and deciding LA was home now, I am sure cemented things further.
Whatever the shift is, I am so glad it has happened for them. My biggest wish for Adam was that he would find someone to love and that someone would love him back. The rest is really frosting on the cake. I don't know how to express it, but being loved by and loving your life partner is so gratifying. I am sorry I waited until 39 to have that experience, but at the same time I'm not.
ETA: The conflict that I think being Bi-National has little to do with language differences than it does with will they stay together. Would Sauli miss Finland too much or would Adam make the move to live in Finland to continue the relationship. Perhaps they have learned that home is wherever you are and right now it is with each other.

Another subject altogether. Since we've had a few bogus demos of Adam songs on YouTube lately, I been thinking about how confusing it has been for so many people to know if Adam was singing or not. That is, it's been confusing for many people to identify his voice. In some ways his voice is very unique--range, in particular. In other ways, his voice is--I don't know how to say this properly--kinda plain, but that's not really what I mean. Plain in that he doesn't have an easily recognizable timber (Adele, Bruce, etc.). It's such a pure vocal sound without quirkiness that distinguished some other singers. Here's what I'm thinking. Remember how on AI he was such a chameleon (visually, vocal style)? When I heard these bogus demos, I did not think it was Adam, but, unlike Cassie who knew it after two notes 8-), I had to listen for a bit. The reason is because I think he could make his voice sound like that. He could have, for one song, decided to slur his articulation. He could change his vibrato (doesn't use that much of it on BTIKM). But I didn't think he would make all those changes for one song. I remember hearing FYE (song) the first time and thinking it didn't sound like Adam I knew from AI. I remember some other people commenting on that too. You make some very good points. I "get" what you are saying about Adam's voice being "plain," as in without quirks or affectations, or identifiable hooks. And I agree that he can do so much with it to sound different. I think of it like a highly trained news broadcaster. If you notice, they don't have a discernible accent such as a northeast Boston slur, the New Jersey nasal twang, a southern drawl. They don't have an identifiable speech pattern that suggests ethnicity or background. They speak formally and somehow, generically. It is the absence of identifiable speech traits, if you know what I mean. Or, like skilled actors who do the same, but when you see them off stage, they speak with a Scottish brogue or an Aussie lilt. They can affect the speech pattern of others they hear. Still and all, there is something in Adam's voice and manner of singing that is unique and "betterer" than other singers. I have no doubt he could hide that if he wanted to, but who would want to? Who would want to take a diamond from the mine and cut it so that it doesn't shine and sparkle with inner light? Who would want to mix a fine aged wine with cocacola? Who would want to put a van gogh painting under glare proof glass? The thing that I dislike about BTIKM is the "pop" treatment/manipulation of his voice to make it sound more like everything else out there. DNW. IMHO.

Adam really can do so much more with his voice than just about anyone. One prime example is his rendition of "My Conviction," when he performed in the musical "Hair." Few people (maybe not even Cassie!) would have recognized him right away! I love this and cannot ever play it just once - it's just too much fun! Yes, that performance is too much fun. Other performances in other productions pale in so many ways. That's the one where I realized he HAD to have studied classically (for a while at least) on addition to broadway style. I don't think anyone who hasn't would know how to maintain that counter-tenor high tone quality AND do the Baroque-style trills so well. Who would guess that was the same voice that sings WWL. VOCAL CHAMELEON!

At first I thought it could be Adam mostly because if he were to record a demo (and perhaps since he is writing so many songs he may want to send out demo's at some point for someone else to sing if he doesn't think it is the best fit for him) - in that event Adam would really need to dumb-down the vocal acrobatic so that some prospective singer listening to the demo would think the song is something they could sing. And I agree that Adam could do a demo and try to sound like an average, yet talented, singer if that was the target he was going for. Hope what I am saying makes sense:-)

I wonder if Adam's perspective changed when he went to Finland and saw Sauli in his home country, where he is a celebrity and has been handling the paps for quite a while. IMHO there is definitely an added respect and perhaps level of trust with Sauli now. Adam's whole body language has shifted and it looks more like "We are in this together" body language. Partners in crime I commented on this several days ago - basically wondering if Sauli living in Adam's shadow would, or did, start to get old because perhaps Sauli being a reality star in his own right needs/or like some limelight too. If so, then Adam and Sauli need/needed to work this out. And therefore, I still think/wonder if the brawl helped to get this out in the open. We will never know, but yes something seems to have changed. And for the better IMHO...

If I had heard that anonymously and was asked to identify the singer, Adam would not have sprung to mind. For sure. Once it was identified as Adam I could listen and hear his particular voice, style, and pronunciation, but it was certainly a shock when I first heard it. It demonstrated to me the depth and breadth of his technique and his extraordinary talent.

Agree with Ksha518 Love this and agree with this quote from RabbitRabbit about expectations. So had to repost it. "I believe in projecting and manifesting in creating and visualizing great intentions for your life and the universe, in inviting in abundance (insert your favorite spiritual metaphor or Oprah quote here, lol) but also the flip side of that is letting go completely of expectations and attachment to the results."I think as humans it is impossible not to be dissappointed when things don't go our way. The question is what meaning will you give to that "failure." We write and/or choose the meaning of "failure" and "success." The meaning you give it either takes you down the well or leads to other options and possibilities. Inventers take failure simply as a sign to try a new way. So, it feeds creative thought. They say it was thousands of failures that led to the light bulb. Not saying do this, but if someone really wants to take part in the creative process of Adam's success they can think of new ways that are NOT ANNOYING IN ANY WAY to include new people in the Adam experience AND not think of it as a failure, not give up, when they fail to interest someone but rather see it as an opportunity to look to a new way or a new person.. Again, may sound new age corny but point of view is everything in life and new agers don't have a corner on the POV market. aaaaand stepping off my tuffet once again :

Bringing this over from MainePF's post on twitter for no other reason than it takes my breath away....I love watching his facial expressions while he sings...be still my heart! How many of these breathtaking performances, small and large, has he given us? Even those with little preparation, sub-par venues and sound, illness, etc. were magical in their own way. He is so open, he welcomes it all and shapes it into form like a master glass-blower. Sometimes I feel his light is so bright l need to shield my eyes until I adjust to his view. Thanks to everyone who post these gems here and there throughout the threads.
