I thought Brian May has shut down this rumor on his blog I think it was in an interview but it was shot down. >> RCA Ed posted FYE sales were around 840,000 and it was selling <500 units a week. But there is no verification of this. So I will stick with the slightly lower number from November 2011. No matter which, FYE is not close to Platinum. ETA: Who is MJ????  Where did RCAEd post that? The very last post he made on sales numbers was the 829,000 for FYE and 44,000 for GNT. I cannot find the RCA Ed comment -- it was in response to a question about why FYE wasn't certified platinum. And it was not one of his sales reports. So it was unclear what he included in the number -- Perhaps someone else has it. (Hard to find anything on AO.com.) But setting all of that aside -- RIAA certification is for wholesale sales not retail sales. I know that FYE has several thousand units that were sold too early for Soundscan, at too deep a discount under 2009 rules to count (3.99 Amazon sale) and have not been sold at retail yet. Only RCA knows the wholesale sales count (shipped less expected returns) but it is probably around 900,000 now. |

I can't believe it :-/ :-/ I don;t know what this is or who the other dude besides Brian May is but they did say QUEEN wouldn't be performing....if Brian was to perform with whoever this dude is separately then that still is true. Queen wouldn't be. It would be Brian and someone else. That is if this is even true. I didn't even know all those Sauli interviews were out there. Thanks! I've never thought for a moment that he was free-loading or anything like that. It just seemed funny to me that that was a concern of his. They do seem very much alike. Someone would have had to point that out to Adam before he went up and tapped him on the shoulder. Don't you think? Maybe I've watched too many Criminal Minds episodes to think that one just walks up to an unknown and taps him on the shoulder and takes him home. They must have at least been making eye contact throughout the evening. The other interesting comment was about the jet lag and hard it is going from west to east and the time it takes to adjust. Sounds familiar. I've always liked the guy and now I like him more. I didn't realize that he went home for a month to work for his dad. That had to have been at the very beginning. In any case, thanks for all the links to the information on Sauli!

My scenario. Adam asked who is that cute guy over there and Crystal Snow told him who he was "Sauli, won big brother a couple of years ago, fame hasn't gone to his head, nice, down to earth, would you like me to see if he'd like to come over?" Adam, "nah, I'll go introduce myself and take it from there." I havne't looked farther, has the radio interview been posted where Sauli talked about that night? He didn't even know Adam was in town and I don't think he knew enough about him to even recognize him. I know Katri interviewed Adam on the promo trip earlier but can we assume that was for her other job and she may not have even mentioned that to Sauli as I haven't seen anyway say they talked about it in a Tutka or anything. Sauli knew exactly who Adam was but he didn't approach him. He and Katri have talked about Adam on a Tutka, right after Katri interviewed Adam on X Factor Finland. Katri said to Sauli what a wonderful , down to earth guy was Adam, and that big stars are humble like him, something like that. Sauli had always been a fan of AI and he liked Adam during his season. I think that was a mistake on Ed's part because I think I remember someone questioning him on it and he corrected. The girl keeping the numbers thread was all over anything Ed reported so I can't imagine she would have missed it. So at any rate the last confirmed number we have from Ed was 829,000. I'm not worried myself I know it will eventually go platinum because Adam will have a long career and new fans will go back and buy the old albums. Sorry, I didn't notice the wink on the MJ comment. LOL |
