I have a question that I haven't seen anyone address. We vote in all the polls and call them stupid, not important. Does anyone think they are being used to monitor how popular Adam is and if they are a sales indicator for Adam? Seems to me that they could be used in that way? Haaa I'd like to say that, and maybe some are, but the more skeptical part of me says it's for hits. I mean all these Idol vs Idol polls? Ya really think the stations care if Adam, Cook or Durbin is more popular? Pfft. They want the clicky click clicks. I totally agree that the station is doing it for clicks, but would not do it if they didn't receive responses from Adam fans. But if you were planning out market strategy, money to be spent, time to be consumed would not the compilation of these polls be used? Looking for a reason to keep voting I guess

Does anyone think they are being used to monitor how popular Adam is and if they are a sales indicator for Adam? Seems to me that they could be used in that way? They matter at least in two ways -- - Increase the buzz index for Adam -- and online buzz is used to measure popularity. - Most of these contests drive immediate airplay and many influence key decision makers ideas of who is popular. (Most importantly Radio PDs.) ETA: The difference between a one-night-stand and a relationship is that second night. And no one knows if that will happen when they step into that first one night. IMO many people think they are starting a relationship when the other thinks it is just for the night. And neither really knows how it will all work out. JMHO YMMV ETA #2: Lulu ITA -- and I am so sure that Madonna has read this thread and will abide by my wishes. ??? ??? ???

It's going to be interesting to see how Madonna fares this time around. She's a legend to me and can do no wrong....but my daughter thinks she's "ancient" and any pop performance will be "embarrassing".....(Should I disinherit her now? : . ....then again, DD and her friends don't buy albums. (They don't even buy singles : )

So my son's friend from Denmark is coming over with him to dinner tonight. She starts her new job with radio 3 in February as a DJ, and I think I read somewhere that they have added BTIKM. I'm going to make my request to her tonight, lol.

The bolded part is interesting given the median age of the posters on this board is 35+. It's funny you'd say this because most of Adam's detractors claim his target audience is 35+ and claim that's what makes him insignificant in pop music. Madonna might block Adam from getting #1 or she might not....Sometimes people get a surprise.... I want Adam competing with the mainstream Pop artists....not with Idols. If he goes up against Madonna and comes in #2 that's okay. Adam is almost 30, target audience 35+ seems normal to me, there are many of those love POP. Male Pop artists with good voice was hard to find in the last 20 years and Adam is OTT , sexy and fearless. He's goona to be big in the Pop Scene. Madonna and J Lo's BF are in their 20's ;D I always wonder how many one night stand Adam had during the 6 months GNT. We all know he's young and hot-blooded ;D
