Wow, this whole conversation regarding James Durbin and what he said and implied about his singing versus Adams just seems a little silly to me. There will never be another Adam Lambert, he is unique and special on so many different levels. James Durbin is very talented (I think) and needs to find and own his own persona and uniqueness. He will never be another Adam Lambert. I think we need to give this kid a break. He has a long journey ahead of him. There is room for everyone to succeed. I think Adam would be the first to say so.

I think the discussion of James Durbin has gone far enough. Topic closed.If there is more Adam news that involves James Durbin -- post away.
But James money situation, vocal comparisons, style, etc. That horse is dead.
If you want to comment on James or anyone from AI10, post in the AI10 Thread in the Members-only section. But not in... Adam News. This thread is owned by AFL.

I have been being nostalgic this evening and reliving my first GNT (Hammond) via Indybeck's wonderful vids. It's so nice to have these to go back to. I grinned ear to ear throughout Aftermath. It is such a sweet and happy song. Auntbert_ Access Hollywood just showed Adam & James Durbin. Heard James saying something like "He is Adam Lambert and I am james Durbin."

Well, I've been away with no email and so nice to see that Adam will be performing acoustic Aftermath on AI. I hope Monte gets to be on stage with him, and not mysteriously "backstage" for the performance. Their interplay is part of acoustic Aftermath.
This isn't about Durbin specifically. I noticed several of the AI guys - Carson, Medina, Abrams, Durbin - in their AI interviews cited one of Adam's performances as their favorite performances. I think it's great that he set a high bar; it's obvious he did in so many respects on that show, and as gracious as it was for Adam to cite David Cook repeatedly as an influence, I think it's awesome that these other people respect what Adam did on the show. That's about it on my end.
So my dh so kindly was dragged to a GNT concert, and now I surprised him with Lucinda Williams tickets. I didn't see live music much anymore before Adam, with little babies at home and all, but happy to say am slowly realizing live music is the last bastion of pure entertainment out there.
