I still maintain that the reason many of Adam's fans are older is that we remember when music demanded better voices. There was no autotune when we were in our teens. Nobody tried to pass off talking as music. People had to be able to sing. That's why we appreciate Adam. He doesn't fake it with electronic manipulation. He can blow the roof off the joint singing live. It's refreshing! YOU Nailed it.. I totally agree with what you said. Much of Today's pop and rap music is an insult to music ,women and anyone with any musical intelligence. Then along comes Adam ,spectacular voice, insane charisma,handsome and nice to boot.What age group wouldn't love him. We have three generations in my family who adore Adam.What RR singer today wouldn't love an Elvis comparison. He is still listened to around the world ,even though he's been dead for a long while ,He still in fact remains the KING of Rock n Roll. Just sayin.. I listened to Idol's Ryan Seacrest and I think he thought he had an in with Adam and could joke around with him like a stupid kid in High School.Didn't work out,Ryan just sounded like a dork&Adam sounded intelligent and thankful for all of his fans. |

I feel your pain! Never met him either!  Me three. TBH, I don't expect to ever meet Adam in person.  i feel the same! :( esp since Chicago is in an Black Hole. |

That just shows you how little Ryan has been paying attention. Adam has always been very respectful of everyone (teeny exceptions for Susan Boyle and Gene Simmons) and anyone who thinks they can bait him into disrespecting his fans is a clueless idiot. |

I agree that's a big part of the reason AI attracts an older audience in general...it's about the voice not the flash (or it used to be). Hopefully with artists like Adele smashing in mainstream without all that synthetic crap that's where music is heading again. I sincerely think that piracy isn't what is killing music...it's shit music.... |

I wonder how we can get Adam onto VH1 Hot 20 on TV, after his video comes out?? I know they put on new singles . I just remember voting my fingers to the bone for WWFM and IIHY. He was up there at #1 for weeks at a time.I'm ready to VOTE..

Ryan likes himself. He's a toolbox. He's nothing more than a gossip whore and isn't any better than Perez or TMZ. Admittedly the older fans don't help the cause by acting like squeeing teens and fawning over Adam with words extolling him as the re-born Elvis but that's hardly representative of Adam's entir fanbase... but as is the way of the industry they will take the most negative thing and amplify it 100 times because that's what they think gets them hits. But this view, that older fans are bad, only happens to male Idol contestants. I go to probably a concert a month, from Bob Seger to Katy Perry and EVERY concert I go to has a diversified fanbase!! I never hear Gaga or Katy being criticized or having to defend that they have older fans!! Exactly. It is very annoying. I was venting to my husband about all of this, he is a casual fan who nevertheless knows everything about Adam through our conversations, lol, when he matter of factly said, "Adam is just going to keep getting bigger and bigger and keep picking up new fans, and now that he is out there, he will last, because Adam is great, and real greatness has a life of its own." I believe that will be true. |
