I was so glad she asked that question. When I watched Ellen I thought, "If someone watching the show did not know much about Adam and had not heard the song before, they would definitely suspect Adam was lipsynching. No one sounds that good and hits those notes live." He IS too good to be true, live. It interested me that she asked that question. I've been wishing that Adam would ditch the canned backup vocals on the live performances. His lead vocals are so incredibly good that when combined with the canned backup vocals I've been wondering if might give the impression he's not really singing to casual listeners. JMHO though, never been a fan of using canned stuff in live performances. There is more in the backing tracks than a third vocal part. There is, at least, some added percussion. In particular, there is a hi-hat cymbal part throughout a lot of the song that is steady 16th notes (I forget which xxx-i quaver it is for the Europeans :-/). Isaac never plays those.

I am wondering more and more if they led with BTIKM so that it would be an inoffensive, US radio friendly, easily performable re-introduction to Adam and that they are really gonna start to push hard when they drop the supposedly massive Cuckoo right before album drop and then blitz the shit out of it??? I mean I am sure they would want BTIKM to be a hit, but maybe that's not super important to them because they know they have an arsenal of AMAZING songs waiting to go and that's what the reviewers who mentioned *soft opening* and *RCA must be really confident in the material to lead with this song* are going on about? Just thinking.... ITA. In this launch RCA will want everything go right, hence the slow build-up. So, they launch BTIKM, which has some flashbacks to WWFM, was well received in radio and was a solid hit. In my opinion, BKTIM is designed to re-introduce Adam (to the radio) and make the transition from ERA1 to ERA2 to go smoothly. Make sure that after this hit, Adam will get auto adds. (Or is it still too early for that?) Judging by the reviews we saw from radio stations, there are at least 4 singles in the album that are better than the first one. (And that's only half of the album they heard.) So RCA have every right to be confident. I believe, this album will be BIG for Adam. As it should be. With multiple radio hits, also in the UK and other markets that are not on board yet.

No worries re Ryan, just a bit jealous. Adam is actively pushing to go global this round. Ryan felt left out. There is definitely a shift in the air. Ryan senses it and did not know how to respond to it. It's all good. Really. JMO. Ryan isn't jealous of Adam. Ryan was just an ass this morning. I am surprised because his interviews are usually good. I am just writing off KIIS, LA and not going to expect them to play Adam until he has a huge Top 10 hit. It may not happen with BTIKM, but it WILL happen with one of the singles from this album. With what we are hearing, from the UK, about Cuckoo, Trespassing and a few others, it will happen eventually. I don't care for Ryan. Adam always gave him the first priority. He launched FYE the first time in Ryan's Radio, when Ryan proudly saying the world wide launch of FYE. But he ended up never play any of singles on FYE album. This second round, Adam didn't launch BTIKM in Ryan's radio, instead Adam gave his first radio interview to Montreal radio. And launch the song live in Leno's. I was expecting Adam to give his US radio interview to Z100. But I guess not. I hope Adam will fly to the East coast next week to do the radio interview with some of the East coast radio stations. If he couldn't do it next week, hopefully the week he's back from the UK. Bottom line, I'm happy Adam didn't launch BTIKM in Ryan's radio. Ryan may not happy about it... but I don't care. WWFM was a huge hit without him playing the song in the radio. Once Cucko or Trespassing become HUGE in Europe, he may have to play these songs in his radio.

Wow! I've been gone for a little bit and come back to a very educating Twitter party conducted by Prof. Lambert! I love it! Wish he had more time answer questions like these; so interesting!

Loving professor Glampants: Adam ranting about singing and giving examples is so funny! Also glad he was asked about live vocals/lipsynching. Gotta make sure everyone knows it's not tricks, but him actually singing LIVE!!!
