Strange. I listen to the American DJ interviews of Adam and I feel as though I am in a time warp. It's like they are pickig up from 2010. The new American interviews are like the international inteviews we watched years ago. WUT!!!

hhmmm... looks like falsetto is not that popular within the singers or just the theater kids like Adam & Alisan? Well, to a theater kid or a classically trained singer, falsetto is kinda a "cheat." It doesn't use your full power, your full vocal cord, your full resonance. It is kinda a short cut to hit notes you can't in full voice. (Except if you are actually going for that very light, little bit wimpy high tone). It's kinda a gimmick, sort of like the whistle voice that a couple of the divas trot out. Or an affectation. (Lord, I hated the Bee Gees.) The thing is, if you know how to use your voice correctly, you do not need to sing falsetto to hit the notes. You can sing the same notes in full voice (either chest or head). But, that takes training and practice. So, I think there is probably some disdain for the use of falsetto. Thanks cassie If Prof Glampants didn't have any class today, I wouldn't know that Jeff Buckley & Bellamy's actually use their falsetto to hit high notes.

Post Ho Here, but just have to add how much I enjoyed Adam"s tweets on falsetto. Every time I read one, it made me think of Cassie. Thanks for teaching us so much about the "Voice", Cassie. IMO, because of you we understood exactly what he was talking about. #ThethingsyoulearnatATOP.

Let me preface this with saying that I haven't listened to any of the radio stuff yet except for Maxwell. But regarding Ryan Seacrest...I've always thought he's damn good at his job. All the billion jobs he does. I hold no animus towards him. Adam DOES have granny fans. He has lots of others, but it's still considered huh? to like a singer if they're male and gay. And if you're a straight girl, then people ask the weirdest question, meaning why would you like a singer if they're gay, meaning there's suddenly nothing attractive about him. Even though, objectively, he may be an "object" of beauty. Gay men are desexualized in order to be palatable, and then add older women - forget it. Older women are supposed to be beyond that, just be moms and grandmoms, and not consider a pop star or actor attractive, or go to concerts, or listen to Top 40. So you could say Ryan's comments are 1) anti-gay and 2) anti-women and 3) anti-age and get mad, or just shrug it off and not take it personally. Sorry to bring it up again, I can never post during the day and by the time I get on, I'm way behind. Yeah I kinda agree with you here. Nothing Ryan said was technically untrue--he just kinda twisted the truth to fit his demeaning and ageist joke, even if those drunk ladies need to reign it in a bit. Oy. I think it's more of a reflection of the messed up values of society in general than anything else. Gay people should be HAY GURL HAY stereotypes that make over your house but not actually have sex and people--women especially--over a certain age should wither away and die to make room for the hot youngins. I don't think Ryan was trying to actively sabotage him at all, I just think he was trying to be funny and just went about it in the worst way possible. Without any class. Cheap humor with little thought. But I don't think he is a bad guy or should be vilified. He prolly has his onw~issues to deal with anyways. LOL. I have to say tho, as a fan who is basically only a few months older than Adam, I kinda resent the meme that he only has older fans. EDIT: Also have to say that it's not the older fans per se that are embarrassing to potential new fans, but it's the same group who are at every show who have money to burn and are aggressive and obnoxious and stalkerish. There's a part of me that HOPES AGAINST HOPE that they HATE this new album and GTFO to make way for actual saner fans. ITA with both of you, although it does irritate me that Ryan went for that completely outmoded meme and even went so far as to dig up footage from 2.5 years ago (there was no GNT in Fresno, so it had to be an Idol concert) to bring that point home. A lot of work went into that. Why? They asked people on Twitter for questions and even DMed me to ask for my cell number so they could possibly call me to ask my question on air (they did that with a lot of people). Why, if they had no intention of doing a legitimate interview? But I will admit, I found the opening questions from the gay station in SF equally as out of touch and clueless. The ones who opened with, "We have so many straight females who want to convert you." Really? REALLY??? I've met an assload of Adam fans in my day and I cannot name a single ONE who has ever had any delusions about "converting him." I'm not saying they don't exist, but I think they're in the EXTREME minority. And here these gay interviewers were perpetuating the myth that straight women cannot find a gay man attractive without somehow believing we are hoping to convert them. Are they kidding?? That really bugged me in some ways as much as the Ryan BS. It really seems like they should have been more savvy, but in some ways they were as archaic and childish as Ryan was.

Ok little review for my sake since it's hard to keep track....how many tracks do we think will be on the album (not counting any bonus) versus what we know already? We have: BTIKM Trespassing Shady Cuckoo Underneath OOL Chokehold Broken English And then in the "we know about but not sure" category we have: Never Close our Eyes--the Bruno collab And one of the articles mentioned some song that's not finished yet that will "blow our minds" Did I miss any? Chunkey, I don't know if anyone answered in the meantime, but there's also the other Pharrell track- the Byron Cooke review talks about it - Kickin In. And the song that's not finished yet *could* be Chokehold, we don't know if it's a different one.

I believe that Adam's ability to appreciate and respect his older, female "surrogate mothers" results in large part from the reverance and respect he seems to have for his own mother. You are probably correct... On a happier note, I just realized I'm not old enough to be his mother. Babysitter maybe, mom, no. Whew. I can go back to stanning now. 8-) I am old enough to be his mother. He is the same age, or will be January 29th, as my oldest child. However, I feel anything but motherly about him, and now that all my children have flown the coop, I seldom feel all that motherly at all, lol.
