I have a sort of OT question. With Madonna about to start her touring and promo stuff and Adam starting his promo stuff, I have been thinking a bit about Monte. No matter what happen between Adam and Monte, I am sure he would have been working with Madonna. So my question is, how different is the money? Are the rates based on your skills and experience or the stature of the star or the size and/or place of the gig?

Can someone share with me how stub hub works. I'm of the impression that blocks of tickets are picked up and resold at a much higher price. The performers make no money off the higher prices that are being paid for these tickets. The seats are sold and then resold. Is this correct?

My experience with Stub Hub has been that it is private people, selling extra tickets or tickets they don't want. Although, I have seen blocks of tickets posted there too. Stub Hub is merely the site that resells the tickets for the people that already have the tickets. I do not believe Stub Hub actually purchases blocks from Ticketmaster and then resells them. I sold my extra ticket for Costa Mesa through Stub Hub. I have also purchased through Stub Hub. They are very reliable and your ticket purchase is guaranteed. ETA: Yes, you are correct. The artist does not get any money that is over the price of the original ticket. The person selling it gets most of it and Stub Hub gets a %.

I have both bought and sold through Stub Hub and find it to be very easy and great. The fees can add up especially on high end tickets, but eBay isn't that much better and has no guarantee as has Stub Hub.

I refuse to let a number define me. I think Adam also realized through FYE era what a valuable fanbase we are. We have money to spend on his products and boy do we ever ;D I don't think numbers do define us. Two years ago, a group of us that encompassed three different fandoms (overlapping) got together for the Muse concert weekend in Atlanta (same night as Fantasy Springs). We celebrted the birthdays of two of us - mine (64) and a 22 year old who flew in from Dallas to join us. My daughter went to the concert with us and two of our group were her age (late 30's). DD just looked around in amazement at this odd group that would have never been together except for the internet fandom and saw how we meshed perfectly regardless of age. It was pretty neat.

[smiling gently, walks onto thread carrying carpetbag] [unzips carpetbag] [turns carpet 180 degrees] [unzips carpetbag again] [keeps turning carpetbag and unzipping until opening is 20 feet by 20 feet wide] [pulls hydraulic winch out of depths of carpetbag] [connects winch, stands back, then carefully guides loaned trebuchet into carpetbag] [once trebuchet disappears into darkness, quietly zips and rezips carpetbag back into portable size] [picks up carpetbag] You're welcome Catz. Congratulations bb. It can sure feel weird for a while when life finally returns to a "normal" configuration after prolonged craziness, but I sure it will be great. {{{ HUGS }}} :D

Hi Lynne - that's great news about P3 - that's a big deal for her ! P3 is one of the four national broadcoasting networks operated by the Danish national broadcaster DR. Before we had any commercial radio stations (which only started in the 1980's), P3 was the music radio we listened to after school hours. (here is a link if you want to read about it en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DR_P3). It's a commercial-free station so that makes it a relief to listen to sometimes. I would be interested to tune in to listen to her programme, do you know what it will be called? I want to check it out :-) Thanks so much for the info! I'm not sure what the new program will be called. I'll try to remember to ask her when she wakes up. Her name is Augusta Glahn-Abrahamsen. She is a very cool girl and I enjoy talking with her about Denmark. Thanks but I've found her :-) She's one of four hosts of "Aftenvagten" (Night Watch) and in addition to that she's hosting this wednesday from 6 to 9 pm apparently. The schedule just says her name, so there's no title. As far as I can see, the other hosts also have three-hour slots at various times during the week. I haven't listened to Aftenvagten as I don't really listen much to radio and not at night, so it will be interesting to check out. If you want the links to the site and the schedule, let me know - maybe we should write via PM as this isn't really relevant to this site? Unless she's going to a feature on A of course
