I remember reading buderschnookie's essay when it was first posted. I love it just as much now as I did then. I never thought twice about the impression I made at an AFL concert because of my age. Until I read discussions on line about the "older" fans at his concerts - and how that perception hurts rather than helps him. I wonder if I will slink away to the back if I'm lucky enough to go to a few concerts again this year. I hope not. I haven't been posting much because I'm rarely caught up enough to post! Listening to interviews, watching videos, voting in polls, twitter parties...it goes on & on. How do you guys stay caught up? Tell me your secrets. I'm not complaining - I'm thrilled!!! A big fat WELCOME to our new members! International ones at that!!!

I refuse to let a number define me. I think Adam also realized through FYE era what a valuable fanbase we are. We have money to spend on his products and boy do we ever ;D In the whole age thing, I think having very cool parentds in their mid 50s gives Adam a great perspective! I mean what was Leila's Mother's Day present in 2011? VIP tickets to a Prince concert!! So funny, because that is what my son was going to give me for Mother's Day. My husband was away on location at the time, and my son had arranged this whole fun night he had planned for us to spend together. Then he got offered a really good gig and ended up being out of town as well, lol. So instead, he got me VIP tickets for Adam's club Nokia concert. My son has a really cool dad that still plays music with him, gives him cool ideas for music videos and takes him to movie premiere parties, lol. However, a little while ago in a podcast interview someone did with him that I was listening to, I was surprised that when the interview started making fun of the musical taste of parents that my son said his parents had really good taste in music and that he really valued his mom's opinion of his work and her feedback. Then he said I was on twitter and gave me a shout out giving my twitter name, lol. :-/. I credit a lot of this to Atop. Listening to new artists suggested here, learning more about how radio works, the roles of labels and management, more about vocals and dub step...even being on twitter and aware of pop culture, has given me an interest and a vocabulary that I believe helps me be more engaged with and relevant to my son. Sometimes I know things that are happening in his world before he even tells me about them because of ninjas here, lol. For example, last night someone here told me about a birthday party one of his music friends was having, and when I told him about it, he told me he was going to it. ;D Heathers: The name of her show will be "outro" and it starts Feb. 5th.

I have a sort of OT question. With Madonna about to start her touring and promo stuff and Adam starting his promo stuff, I have been thinking a bit about Monte. No matter what happen between Adam and Monte, I am sure he would have been working with Madonna. So my question is, how different is the money? Are the rates based on your skills and experience or the stature of the star or the size and/or place of the gig? No one but Monte and the IRS knows. And that is the way it should be. The are no rules for what touring artists pay musicians but being the member of the band for a large touring show like Madonna's almost certainly pays more than what he made working for Adam. (Madonna's numbers are not public.) Monte also has 3 co-write credits on Madonna's 2009 album and that is worth some money too. We do not have confirmation that Monte will be touring with Madonna but it is very likely. He will be playing with her for the SuperBowl and has been part of every tour since 2001. Monte was lead guitarist and music director for Adam's GNT a more important position then he has had with Madonna. Monte was part of the Band for Madonna's for past tours Here is her band from teh last tour..... Kevin Antunes – musical director, keyboards, programming Kiley Dean – backing vocals Brian Frasier-Moore – drums Arkady Gips – violin, backing vocals Alexander Kolpakov – guitar, backing vocals Vadim Kolpakov – guitar, backing vocals Ric'key Pageot – keyboards, piano, accordion Monte Pittman – guitar, percussion, backing vocals Nicki Richards – backing vocals The Madonna tours included dozens of dancers, techs and other administrative people. In other words, these are huge productions and Monte's role in it is not equivalent to his role in GNT. **** Now back to Adam **** ETA: YEAH for Boston being added to BTIKM Country!!!

I'm sure Q3 can get into great detail about how the size of the venues would affect the salary each person of the band, crew is paid. LOL, never mind. I was kind of figuring by the time I looked for a couple of vids, Q3 would have already answered the question ... A request: I need a new avi for this era. Is anyone who is good at finding and/or making .gifs (rheimer, gelly, seoulmate, chunkey??), I'd like a shot of Adam waving or saying "hi" or "thanks guys" (like at end of Leno performance, though that's too far away). Or when he waves and mouths Thank you on Ellen when they cut from two-shot to just Adam. (I'll find video and give the time stamp ...) Any other ideas would be appreciated!

kamar!! Hi neighbor! Welcome! And welcome Bertie! I have a sort of OT question. Adam's soundman said Adam pays him more than Beyonce did, so it's certainly not the star's stature. I think some of the bigger stars are prob very tight-handed, because everybody wants to work with them anyway (good for the resume sort of thing). I don't know about the size/place.
