I watched the Leno performance once again. Gahhhhh his little moves that he's making with his legs while holding the mic stand are so hot to me, I don't know why! I'm a bit late with my comment but I'm going to comment anyway... 8-) Those moves are really killing me! Soooo hot! I'm drooling and having some, ahem, weird feelings... ;D ;D ;D

Guys...if you haven't used your vote in the radio category already - how about giving it to Liam? He's a great supporter of Adam...puts on a terrific show each week. He's very close to first place - Let's push him up there! shortyawards.com/LiamMcEwan

Yeah, I wonder why Adam keeps saying if it wasn't for his fans he may not have been making this 2nd album. That doesn't compute for me. He's said it at least 3 times now... I think he is just giving us love and keeping the media questions about his fans in-line. With an album over 1.2 million worldwide, and over 4 million in single DLs worldwide, there is no way RCA would have not allowed this album. Maybe we helped to get him the Ex Producer title, but they would have let him have album #2 for sure.

The current big pop stars have all pushed hard to allow fans to share video and live performances online. Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber both became megastars on the web. Adam (and many other pop artists) has done the same thing. I know that the major labels understand the power of the web. The challenge is how to balance that freedom with selling recorded music. 95% of the digital music people of all ages have on devices was not legally purchased. As far as I can tell, the biggest difference between a 20 year old and a 50 year old and pirated music is that the 20 year olds think it is their right and the 50 year olds know that it is wrong. But the numbers say there are pirates of all ages, all over the world. Hmm, that's really too bad. I do remind myself when I see ads on YouTube, Hulu, Vevo, etc. that it is how people are monetizing all the content that we've been consuming for free, so I try not to get impatient with it. I do believe YouTube is an invaluable tool for the marketing of artists and Gaga, Bieber and Adam are all benefiting from it. The Trent Reznor interview I listened to about a year ago spoke directly to rihannasu's point about people not realizing that when you steal music from an artist, you are greatly affecting their future. Reznor was saying that, in the future, there is going to be a greater bonding between artist and fan because that connection is part of what will prevent people from stealing from them. He used Radiohead as an example of an act with an extremely committed fan base. In the Top40 world, Radiohead might not have No. 1 hits, but their fans are so loyal that they have had freedom to do much of what they've wanted to do musically. One thing about Adam that obviously has been commented on in the radio interviews, so industry people are fully aware (as we've been hearing it for almost three years), there is something about him that fosters intense loyalty and devotion. (Okay, obsession ...) I think in the past, people who didn't understand it could sit back and think, "Freaks!" but as he connects with more people and gets more widely known, more in the industry are going to realize, "Oh, I kind of get it now ... this wasn't just some random phenomenon, this guy is really pretty damn awesome!" Another thing that is interesting about Adam, is that people rarely just "get over him." Of course there have been a few Idol fans who have moved on, but knowing many hardcore fans, I'd have to say the retention rate in this fandom is quite high. I just watched a very interesting piece on Tom Brady (QB New England) whose scouting reports out of college listed him as ordinary. He was a 6th round draft pick. What the scouting reports did not (could not) show was his heart, his drive, his quiet determination. He was an enigma. But, once given the opportunity to perform live and under pressure, this quality was evident. It took 3 or 4 years for it to become obvious. The coaches and team players wouldn't let him go as they knew that "something" was there. And, TB feels to this day that he still has to work hard to disprove the doubters. Sounds like certain man we all love and support. I feel he has a good heart too. And, yes, I'm one of those >40% older woman who enjoys sports.

He was definitely doing the interview during the press day in LA, Jan 5? The sound was so bad and the pic so dark, I was trying to figure out if the parts with Adam and that one guy was an old vid or a new one. I would say the interview is already done, if that was new footage. I would be very surprised if he is not in NYC next week. But, if he is not, it won't be the first time he and/or RCA has surprised us with this rollout! Sorry the video is so crappy, I recorded the ET Canada preview on my phone late last night when it repeated late at night. I tried to upload it twice to twitvid but for some reason it kept disappearing. I up-loaded it to vimeo but I don't know how to embed a vimeo video. vimeo.com/35430165Oh, Lulu.. I did not mean this as a criticism of you. I am grateful for any :-video we get of Adam, ever. I just meant I couldn't tell if that one part was a new clip or not. Sorry.

Next week the NZ station is going to have a three hour AL special starting two hours earlier than today (the one hour programme just finished) in celebration of Adam's 30th birthday. Listener's may phone in their birthday wishes and songs, too!
