Just one last thing--I thought 100 Monkeys' fans (you ornery monkeys!) might have been staging a big last-minute comeback...but A's still ahead at 63%. Just in case is anyone gets bored overnight...this is the one that is SUPPOSED to retire him after this last match up! MsDylangirl Adam is ahead but dropping so fast!!This is the last night of voting for Adam Lambert vs 100 Monkeys! radiosophie.radio.com/2012/01/20/sop… via @radiosophie P.S. The Monkeys aren't bad... Here's the link to vote.. radiosophie.radio.com/2012/01/20/sophies-challenge-adam-lambert-vs-100-monkeys/

The one thing I remember about Adam's first return to Idol was how the judges just sat there like lumps. Adam blew the roof off and they didn't move. His week as mentor was stellar and that performance was breathtaking. Now Seacrest, as I said way back didn't seem to support Adams music on his show at all. On E, not a mention of his very successful world tour. Yes, they gave him a platform and he's thanked them a thousand times but I would like to see them cover something other than the controversies! That's all, rant over, sorry! I remember that. I was so pissed. I think they totally disrespected him, especially Steven Tyler. Yet wasn't some rapper on that stunk but Steven gave him a standing ovation.

ecojm would you share with us how you first found Adam? We love hearing how newbies found him. My friend pointed him out when he was on Idol, and I was hooked. I'd never heard a guy sing like that (unless you count some of the 80's rockers, but really they couldn't hit those notes in chest voice like Adam can). And then I followed him ever since. I have to admit I didn't like all of FYE, but there were some stellar moments. And, really, as long as I can hear those high notes and belts, I'm happy regardless of the song's content. Of course, though, I'd like him to reach a broader audience so he can keep making music! Really looking forward to this album. Do I detect another singer on board? ;D ;D You talk like one.

Heard BTIKM on the radio for the first time yesterday! It was on Sirius XM 20 at 20...not likely I'll hear it on local radio for months tho.

I just remember the last time he was there when he sang Aftermath that the judges didn't give him the time of day.

I promised to post on a few things related to the Nightwish concert, and I will since it's slow. No new pictures to discuss the upholstering of Adam's couch (that was a tad bit odd, though humorous). It would have been a great topic for Sauli's Ilta-Sanomat blog to write about the show, because so many people love Nightwish in Finland. He would have gotten new unique visitors from guys who otherwise wouldn't be caught dead reading his blog. Oh well. But I did run into the singer of the other one of the opening acts! If a guy has a hair like he has in this video and he speaks Finnish, he sure is easy to recognize: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rs-or7As0k. He walked past me close to the concert location, and I of course said that hopefully the concert will be good tonight! He was with one of the other band members, and they both jumped a little. Probably because I obviously spoke Finnish to them, which they didn't expect. And I sure didn't look like a metal fan... They thanked me nicely. This guy sure looked good live. Anyone interested in more evidence of that can check this page 8-) www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=34490791378Ahem, back to the concert... The other opening act was called Dommin. I saw their music video in Youtube last week, and really liked the message of self-empowerment in it. Especially the girl hammering the scale into pieces around 0:40... They had asked their fans to submit pictures and video on "closure". It's worth watching: www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2wBYR-AbiQ Imagine the stories Adam would get if he ever asked the same question from his fans! And the singer was as good live as in the music video! One more thing. I almost didn't go to this concert because I though that I will stick out like a sore thumb in the audience. It was still metal, even if Nightwish is very different from most metal acts. Then I thought about the discussion here on Adam's older fans, and I decided that damn, I'm going! I'm not going to have anyone else (not even myself) define what I can an cannot do. And the audience ended up being very varied! Granted, there were lots of 16-30 year old guys either with a lot of hair or almost none at all wearing black clothing. But then there were lots of women, including the dreaded older women! And they were there with each other, not bringing their kids (or grandkids). So next time I won't even think about it whether I "fit" into the perceived group of fans of anyone or anything. As NoAngel said in her essay today, labeling is exclusionary and limiting.

Makes me wonder sometimes what their problem was. Maybe realizing its over for them and on to the new best in music!
