A bit confused. I have pre-ordered it. He looks so gorgeous with Chaka. And those eyes and the hair are so beautiful. I wish he would not distort/hide those eyes or shave off those sides. I don't think the artists make much money on album sales anyway but I pre-ordered too. But I hope he has a better showing than he did with Velvet. I'm sorry he missed much of the Velvet promo but I'm also mourning the fantastic looks, edge, hair and outfits he was sporting during the Velvet era before Covid hit. It was nice to see the growth, sophistication, style and maturity. He looked very much the movie star along with the great music, lol.

I hated the 70's look of the Velvet stuff lol...not a fan of 70's fashion anyway. Hated the long hair, the extensions etc.
Good thing he changes it up constantly, we can all get a little of the looks we like.
No idea what Adam is making off High Drama, but I'm buying it...can't wait. Really excited about this album, and about the livestream concert.

But when I say I loved the Velvet era, I was talking about the edgy pastel suits, gorgeous hair and less heavy makeup on GMA, Corden, The Youtube concert (black pinstripe suit) and the white suit for Home for the Holiday, blue suit on Strictly Come Dancing and the mini Velvet concerts. Those were the looks he was presenting before Covid hit. He was gorgeous and sexy and presented himself as a serious but exciting artist with his band and not some OTT character. I have never been a huge fan of SS but he has turned himself into a some act that is trying to compete with LNX for attention, imo.

Got it, Lurleene...every time I hear Velvet era, I think about those extensions lol. LOL. Yep. And I would have loved to have seen what Adam looked like with long hair but instead of waiting for it to grow out, he went with those extensions. I might have loved him with the longer hair but the fake hair was a big miss.

SS has turned himself into a caricature, IMO. And I do like his voice well enough. His whole gender identity thing has really swallowed him up. Adam may switch around his wardrobe, for good or ill, but he knows who he is, gender-wise. I actually liked some of the Velvet looks. To me, his best looks are the classic ones, well-tailored suits, hair with a bit left on the sides (he has fabulous hair), and just enough makeup to emphasize but not overpower his magnificent eyes. That's not to say that I don't enjoy his over-the-top costumey outfits. They're fun, too, but he's so naturally handsome, I like him to show off his best assets. Bottom line, he'll wear what he wants to whether we like it or not.
And I hope that somehow, some way, he is making some money on High Drama.

But do most regular gay men view that as good representation for them when those wearing women's clothing, OTT wigs/makeup and exaggerated mannerisms, which sometimes seems like mockery (and used by some comics to mock gay men for laughs) get more media attention. My fear is that at some point, it will be viewed as the African Americans came to view the Black Minstrels Shows as more buffoonery than representation of most Blacks. I don't enjoy when Adam goes with the OTT distracting makeup but it seems more glam rock than him trying to pretend he is a woman with teen girl or hooker-like outfits. There is a place for drag queens (and I wish the were not under attack) but I don't think the majority of gay men view themselves in that light.
