why are people flipping tits over BTIKM? JFC this week is the official adds... it's up to #41 on HOT AC already and anytime a song is just outside the top 40 BEFORE it even goes for adds that's a GOOD THING!! RCA is doing their job. The released the song MOST likely to get Adam back on the radio and this week they will start pushing the song to radio. They lined him up with interviews, they are letting the media hear parts of the album and the reviews so far have been off the wall amazing. The promo just started. I think y'all let the haters get in your head sometimes and you start believing what they say about Adam failing. I have more faith in Adam than to believe or even worry that he'll fail. He'll make himself a success... he's got the drive, the talent AND the fan support to do it. so just calm down and relax... Adam's got this under control. "flipping tits"  I agree 100% with your post.  Sorry, just jumping in towards end of thread. Quick drive-by, but Wonderstruck, I totally agree with ever single letter of this post. |

I have believed since Adam's audition that he will make an impact -- he already has for so many of us. If this album has only modest radio play, then I will be perfectly happy and I think it is safe to say that Adam will too. There are all different levels of success in this business and Adam seems to truly appreciate what matters most (his music, his integrity, his relationship with his audience). I am not a voter, requester, magazine/pendant buyer -- but I am a devoted fan. I am here for the long haul and I refuse to angst over the process. I will wait as patiently as I can for the album that will surely become the soundtrack for my 2012 (even if it isn't THE album of 2012) . That's how I feel, too.  ETA: wal - for the Tutka link. |

I just want to give a big THANK YOU this morning to joky and haribert and all the others providing perspective this morning. Seriously, I felt just about ready to open a vein after reading the speculation from last night and earlier this morning. It hurts so bad to think of RCA just dumping Adam on his ass ... BTIKM is a fab song that I just love, and the whole album sounds so amazing. Hopefully that is NOT what is happening. Seriously, why would it? I'm sure there will be bumps along the way, but it doesn't make sense that RCA would invest in this album the way that they have, and then not back it up. I have been requesting faithfully on my local stations and there doesn't seem to be much else I can do. I can't wait for the video. I'm sure it's going to be amazing. And Haribert, what you wrote about other artists such as kd lang was so true. I adore her and recently got to see her in concert for the first time. Another good example is Radiohead, which pretty much does whatever they want thanks to their huge and loyal fan base. The fact is that it's hard because we don't know where this ride is taking us. Some conventional expected place, or someplace we've never seen? When will we get there and how will we know we're "there" if we do? Cleopatra knows ...  On a more unequivocal note, I LOVE the new album art! He looks stunning. The art conveys a record that is definitely autobiographical, a life in motion. It's honest, lovely, and arresting. I want a t-shirt with this image!! |

I just hope that everyone remembers we are all on the same side here. And there is a LONG road between "doom and gloom," and questioning what is happening with the single and how RCA is handling it. Adam is a different kind of artist. He is kind of paving his own way, and history has shown that he may need his people to work a little harder in opening some doors for him. And we have all seen just what he can do if that door is opened. Anyway, it's all just discussion  There is SO much to be excited about right now. But, Toby is a tool. And I really don't trust much of anything he says when it comes to Adam, but that's just me |

As far as I can understand from twitter and from here most of the negativity starts from certain boards, who are using the boards to push for THEIR idols. Like MY idol is better than YOUR idol and some of them are trying so hard that is completely hilarious.  Yes I'm totally grateful for Idol. If it wasn't Idol I would never found Adam. But Adam is SO SO SO MUCH MORE than that. Playing with my gifs here I would say to them....   And move on. It is the same posters over and over again that jump on the least hint of trouble immediately. Their history reveals their bias. I'll admit I am biased about Adam but just don't care enough about other idols to follow what they are doing much less post negative thoughts so eagerly. I have long had the conviction that all these people who dislike Adam and are so vocal about would someday eat their words. I have also long had the conviction that all these PDs, DJs what have you that dismiss him will someday be kissing his ass. That conviction hasn't changed. |

I usually say "keep sharp objects away from me." Never really thought about it that way, but I think you are on to something, at least for me. Not knowing can be exciting and a bit scary at the same time. It's all good. |
