I refuse to get into doom and gloom yet - as far as I'm concerned BTIKM is just getting started and promo has only just begun. I may not be remembering this correctly since I don't follow Kelly C at all - but I would swear that a few weeks into Mr Know It All, her fans on twitter were going on and on about it being a dud and RCA should scrap it and go wiht a new single. Hmmmm... nowdays I can't even turn on my radio without hearing that song. Seems to have done pretty well for a dud that should get scrapped.... yep... Kelly's fans were sure the song was a total fail and that RCA should dump it and go with something else. Hell they still claim the song is a dud single LOL |

I specifically remember a snarky quote from that asshole Perez saying that MKIA was a flop, with a sarcastic "Ouch!" I hear that song every time I turn on the radio. My station played it twice in less than two hours the other night. Didn't mys*&@^#r have some statistics about the sales of BTIKM compared to WWFM, and BTIKM sold more in its first two weeks than WWFM did in its first four weeks? WWFM went on to be platinum-and-a-half. That can't be considered disappointing. I also recall a lot of angst over WWFM until someone was able to dredge up statistics showing how long it takes most songs to climb the charts. It's not just Adam's music. The whole country is not going to hear and buy music overnight. It takes time. |

why are people flipping tits over BTIKM? JFC this week is the official adds... it's up to #41 on HOT AC already and anytime a song is just outside the top 40 BEFORE it even goes for adds that's a GOOD THING!! RCA is doing their job. The released the song MOST likely to get Adam back on the radio and this week they will start pushing the song to radio. They lined him up with interviews, they are letting the media hear parts of the album and the reviews so far have been off the wall amazing. The promo just started. I think y'all let the haters get in your head sometimes and you start believing what they say about Adam failing. I have more faith in Adam than to believe or even worry that he'll fail. He'll make himself a success... he's got the drive, the talent AND the fan support to do it. so just calm down and relax... Adam's got this under control. Thank you, thank you soo much!!! I was feeling so good about thieving era and for some reason yesterday hit me hard. What with the number angst, Buffalo PD and Toby. But thanks for putting things back into perspective. Back to my happy place, thanks so much!! |

I will my opinion (only MY opinion) about mr. Toby. I didn't say it until now because I saw some people saying that we need to support everyone that might play Adam's music. I NEVER believed that he would. NEVER. He has an AGENDA. And his agenda is to push Kris . He is a Kris stan and he always will be. I know that they say "people change" Nope. Not him. Just listen to this interview - old interview - only listen if you want to, the beginning and the end - and tell me that this guy, talking THAT way about Adam, has changed his mind about Adam. Sorry. Not buying it. I'm gonna wait what the others have to say about Adam's single. Certainly I'm not gonna wait what mr. Toby has to say. Back to berting I agree. Another attention-whore whose web we fell into because of our boredom. Like everything else, cold turkey is best way to rid ourselves of a bad habit. No nasty comments, just ignore! Irrelevance is the worst punishment. I didn't know anything about his KA love, but doesn't matter. Be civil, don't acknowledge, let KA's fans keep him entertained. Whatever is going to happen with Adam and Trespassing will happen. Our job is to support both of them vote, comment, buy, listen and always remain the good guys, not the jerks. I've declared 2012 an angst-free zone and I cannot wait for all the goodies it brings. |

And it was released Aug. 30, without all that random lead time, which RCA master-minded, so how in the world can they even be surprised by the unorthodoxy of it? (And also why I don't believe the "sources close to the label," LMAO! MKIA has been out a week shy of FIVE months and it's just now getting to where I'm hearing it regularly on my HAC. It's never been played on my CHR (or added, IDT), but it's likely to hang around for a long time. |

I'm afraid to read back in this thread because of the "talking off the ledge" I 've had to do for several people in the last 12 hours! So I am going to start with page 6 and this post, which makes 100% perfect sense. I have no idea why we are angsting over a song that just went to adds yesterday. Yes, the song got "only" 8 adds yesterday BUT look at it this way.... It got 24 adds BEFORE its adds date! How could that possibly be something to angst over?! :-/ I don't get it! |

RCA and Adam want album sales. In a lot of cases, hit singles drive successful album sales; however, it's not always the case. IMO, Adam will have a hit single (or two) from Trespassing. BTIKM? or next. To me, the team seems to focus more on Trespassing as a whole. It's interesting that quite a few reviewers so far pointed to the difference between BTIKM and the rest of the heard/previewed tracks. Telling, really. Not privy to the thoughts behind BTIKM launch. I do think they are more focus on positioning Trespassing's faster, hipper, newer sounds. BTIKM is a US bridge. Its yesterday. I believe it will serve its purpose. As a young fan This too!! You notice how in the interviews the past few days it's been all about "Trespassing" and BTIKM is sometimes barely mentioned? It seems they have a very different strategy in place here. And I believe it IS a strategy. As usual, don't know what, we can only speculate (AS WE DO) but I do find it interesting that, thus far, it has been all about "Trespassing," nsm BTIKM. |
