Well................................................................
I hope Adam isn't lurking here today.
There has been so much good stuff in the last week, with the culmination of the knock down drop dead gorgeous cover, and less than 1 day later there is no flailing whatsoever.
I'm going to go find something fun to do.
ETA: The thread today reminds me of what Adam said in th ET Canada interview about having 364 good days, and they only pay attention to that 1 bad day.
Well, thread goers: here's that one bad piece of information that nobody likes, and what has it done?

You know with all the talk about BTIKM and it's radio add/non-add numbers, being played/not being played on radio, RCA'S promotion/non-promotion of it etc., I just keep remembering a post Q3 did sometime back where she talked about and gave numbers of great/iconic bands and artists that didn't have that many #1 hits on radio. But history has shown their longevity and iconic status. (Wish I still had her post.) That's what I hope for Adam...longevity and to be appreciated for being the 'one in a generation' talent of his generation. So when Adam news gets 'interesting' I just remember Q3's post and I keep looking forward...keeping my eyes on the prize!! I'm supposed to work on my project for school but all the angst have made me antsy and frustrated...can't concentrate at all. :( The above post basically summed up my feelings, especially the bold part. Think of Aerosmith, or Bruce Springsteen, how many hit songs have they had during their entire careers? Adam wants longevity, and I believe he'll be around for a long, long time and even iconic. Focus on the big picture and keep eyes on the prize! Now off my soapbox and try to finish my project.

In addition, a couple people I know who work closely with RCA have express a concern that Adam's fans are sharing the single vs. buying it and this is effecting his sales. Whoa. IF indeed you have heard that (and your sources go beyond Toby Knapp), I am seriously disappointed in RCA as a professional business. First, they should know the Adam fan base better. And this is, you now, their JOB. Adam fans - true fans - are ridiculous about not stealing music, especially those who live in the US (and I'm assuming we are talking about US sales here). In no other fandom have I seen so much focus on buying and gifting as opposed to dl-ing illegally. Yeah, maybe there are some (younger) fans who downloaded this illegally, but, you know what, that happens in EVERY fandom. Which brings me to point #2. Second, RCA should know their business better. Really, RCA, really? You are counting on people NOT downloading the single illegally? On what planet does RCA live? Songs are being downloaded illegally all over the place. The labels have been fighting this for years. The key is to get the song visibility to a point where you have enough people BUYING even though you also have a lot of people downloading. It's the nature of the industry right now. Then you make up for lost revenue through touring, merch, other avenues. Third, that RCA would express this, even informally, is completely unprofessional. They are basically blaming the fan base of one of their artists. How is that OK for fan relationships? This is PR 101. Whoa. All that being said, I also understand the label is working to get Adam out there, because, as I said, it's in their benefit as well. I am NOT a conspiracy theorist. I do not believe the label is completely incompetent or out to get Adam. Most large organizations have their share of incompetence. I was merely sharing my disappointment towards this one particular thing that you say you have "heard" from "a couple of people". Maybe those people should keep quiet right now, it would be wiser for all. ETA: Just bolded the "IF you heard that part" because all my ranting is based on TOTAL HEAR SAY. Who knows what the truth is.

www.vh1.com/music/tuner/2012-01-24/adam-lambert-reveals-trespassing-album-cover/VH1 Tuner January 24th, 2012 | 3:53 pm Adam Lambert Reveals Trespassing Album Cover by Kat George If you thought you’d seen an intense stare before, then you were wrong — no stare you could possibly have seen before compares to the intensity of Adam Lambert‘s stare on the cover of his new album, Trespassing. Dark and dramatic, the cover features Lambert’s gaze locked against yours, his perfectly coiffed hair spiking out to anime perfection. And there’s a sense of the animated to the whole portrait, but that’s not to suggest it’s cartoonish. Post production seems to have put the image somewhere in the spectrum of Sin City unreal-realism, and we’re just hoping the music inside is half as powerful as the imagery on the outside. If his live television performance of “Better Than I Know Myself,” and the descriptions he’s given of the new music are anything to go by, then we think we’re in for a real treat!
