"Hi, my name is Twotrue and I'm a negative person." I just am. I cannot make myself a positive or zen person; I am just wired differently than many of you here. I don't like surprises, I like to figure out the end of the book before I finish it (and then check to see if I'm right), and like a boy scout, I am pretty much always prepared for disaster. However, contrary to thoughts of several posters, let me assure you that I am not at all depressed or anxious. And I'm happily medication-free, Keyboard. The thing is, it works for me. I am an attorney and my ability to evaluate facts, analyze potential outcomes and provide for worst case scenarios allows me to be a good advisor to my clients.

I am also an Adam fan, a stan even. I have supported him and will continue to support him no matter what. And I do not angst about his eventual success because he has an uncanny ability to survive and suceed despite the obstacles thrown his way. In fact, that (in addition to his smoking hot good looks and incredible voice) is probably one of the things I like about him the most. I think it is much more interesting to watch someone overcome obstacles and learn and grow from their experiences than to witness a quick rise to success.

However, in that vein, I am interested not just in the good, but the bad as well. There were some great and exciting things that came out of yesterday and today -- the album cover, the Lindsy interview, etc. I'm definitely celebrating the good, but I can't ignore the bad. It's not in my nature.

Until two days ago, it seemed like things were going great. We were hearing that the single was getting a good response, radio was onboard, good amount of adds pre-add date, etc. Then, all of a sudden, things went to hell in a handbasket with regard to radio. So me, I want to know why. What changed? What does everything mean? What will RCA do? And I want to hear what others think about it. That's not angst; that's curiosity (and admittedly maybe a little armchair quarterbacking). And then today, on his Top 40 add date, he did not get a single new add. The RCA promo guy is supposedly the "king" of radio and he can't secure one add for an Grammy-nominated artist whose prior single (very similar to this one) sold almost $2m copies and went to top 15 (I think?) on pop radio? As a supporter of Adam and knowing how much work he put into album and how good it probably is, I'm also a little peeved that RCA may (emphasis on may so no one gets too upset) be dropping the ball. I'm sorry, but as Adam himself has said, he is an artist, but also a businessman. And it cannot have been his or RCA's intention to release a single with mainstream appeal to HAC and Pop radio, ask fans to request it, and then plan for it not to get more than a few small market adds on its adds date. So, what is the strategy? And why, except for San Francisco, has there been hardly any radio promo? Has it just not kicked in yet? And again, I want to know what others think and I'm interested in watching how things play out. Curiosity and interest, not angst.

Keyboard, I love reading your posts and I agree with a lot of your post tonight. I too think Adam is looking for and will acheive respect in the industry and a long-term career. But I cannot agree with your attack and the subsequent supportive pile-on against those who also choose to analyze the negative events of the last two days. Nor do I agree that I or others like me should find another artist to support merely because we might hold a minority viewpoint here. (And what's the benefit to Adam the artist and the spread of his music and talent in ridding the fanbase of those who love and want to support him just because they have diverse viewpoints?)

For me, I want to discuss and hear about both the bad and the good. If anything, experiencing the bad, makes the good all that much more sweet. (Or you could say I like the dark and the light. Hmm, I wonder where I got that from.)

Sorry, for the long post. I've been holding a lot of emotions in all day and just had to vent.

I just watched the Lyndsey Parker interview again and started noticing things like the way Adam uses his hands and the absolute perfection of his head, neck, and shoulders. That V-neck shirt and all the black really is gorgeous. And how smart is he to not wear a necklace! It would have completely ruined the smooth lines of his look! Yes, I am fangirling bad with this interview! ;D
