Adam's paradoxical STRENGTH and VULNERABILITY, so evident in these latest interviews and pics, absolutely SLAYS me dead.
Twotrue:
Yeah, I'm also interested in the WHOLE spectrum of opinion and feeling out there regarding BTIKM. Don't like to think of folks feeling "shut down" or "outvoted."

Oh well, Adam wasn't being interviewed on the red carpet.

Keyboard, I love reading your posts and I agree with a lot of your post tonight. I too think Adam is looking for and will acheive respect in the industry and a long-term career. But I cannot agree with your attack and the subsequent supportive pile-on against those who also choose to analyze the negative events of the last two days. Nor do I agree that I or others like me should find another artist to support merely because we might hold a minority viewpoint here. (And what's the benefit to Adam the artist and the spread of his music and talent in ridding the fanbase of those who love and want to support him just because they have diverse viewpoints?) For me, I want to discuss and hear about both the bad and the good. If anything, experiencing the bad, makes the good all that much more sweet. (Or you could say I like the dark and the light. Hmm, I wonder where I got that from.) Sorry, for the long post. I've been holding a lot of emotions in all day and just had to vent. Thank you. A lot. I was very disheartened by the portions of keyboard's post that you pointed out, and even more disheartened by the wholehearted support they received from almost everyone who responded. I could say more, but you addressed everything in a more evenhanded, articulate manner than I could probably manage at the moment. Back to lurkdom for me.

I don't think this is accurate:
Adam is moving up in both spins and Audience Impression in both HAC and CHR. He is 41 on HAC tonight and will probably be Top 40 by Friday. Nothing about this is bad.
So nothing has happened negative besides people misinterpreting things and, IMO, panicing for no reason.

One nice thing is that the quality of Adam rumors has gone way up.
2 years ago it was that Adam might be on Glee. Now it is that he might perform with QUEEN at the Olympics.

[grins] LOLLIES ARE READY! We've got extra-special [glow=yellow,2,300]KARMIC KREMES !!![/glow]. [laughs] The bucket has made these before, but never quite like this! [shows off a bucket full of sparkling yellow lollies, each with a shimmering dragon glowing around the middle with black-and-yellow ribbons reminesent of police tape cascading below] [laughs] I'm not sure, but traditionally each one you eat will help bring about all good things that are deserved. Very lucky for this year of the dragon. ;D [laughs while making little oinking noises] Chapf! Set me up with gelly and the other piggies please! I'll have 3 - Thanks for honoring us dragons! Hoppers, can you please explain to the newbies about the lollies?

I heard BTIKM for the first time today while I was in a cafe in a dog park. Because this single has been described as the "odd man out" song on the album, I'm not sure it's a good predictor for Adam's career trajectory with the second album. It's clear it's a safe choice in the WWFM vein (slow burn), but you know what, Kelly Clarkson's "Mr Know it All" reached No.1 on our charts here, so you just never know.
And Adam is definitely moving in a different direction with the rest of the album, which has to have an entirely different outcome. In some ways, this is Adam's true first album.
There are so many ways Adam's career can go. In my heart I'd love all the world to love him. All he needs is one massive hit (Cukoo?) which could launch him like Jason Derulo was lauched with "In my head". I'm completely open to that possibility. I was so pissed when Jason became massive, so quickly, and Adam didn't.
It is soooo early days yet and he's definitely going to focus more on major international markets for this album.
Think about artists like Pink - who doesn't have the Bieber-type fame, and she isn't that big in America either. She is massive in certain parts of the world though, including Australia and has been for a long time.
Her Funhouse Tour only went to Europe, Australia and North America in 2009/10. She earned $150 million for that tour - and $60 million of that amount was made in Australia. She stayed here for a few months just selling out again and again and again.
There are so many ways this can all work out for him, especially knowing that this single doesn't reflect the rest of the album.
