Coming out of newbie lurkdom...someone nice over at TWOP sent me over here to find refuge. I will never be the gifmaster you-all are, but wanted to say hello and chime in briefly on the discussion. I truly don't care that some people don't like Adam or his music. Fine. What's distressing to me on multiple levels is how vicious the hatred is. There are easily a dozen posters over on TWOP who live to say nasty things on his thread. That's all they do--they don't support anyone else, they just target Adam. They get banned, they get new IDs, they start again. WTH? So when Adam is singled out by these DJs in such a mean-spirited way, it seems like a similar level of special nasty. After all, if the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference, why go to the trouble of tweeting out these things? They like to blame the fans, but you can't tell me Archie's fans haven't been just as active in their support of him. So...yes, some of us worry. I'm with those who believe that Adam isn't going to be a Bieber (and thank the deities for that), and if he gets to have a longer career that's more of a niche, that's okay too. (I do like the Grateful Dead analogy.) But at the same time, being all-too human, I'd love to see the Nasties have to eat their words for a change. ETA: Thanks so much for that EMA link. That performance makes me sooooo happy. Welcome!!  All I can say about those haters, and there are a few at some other sites too. They jump into every thread to say something negative or to start the angsting. "They are a very sad lot, aren't they?! What a sad way to live one's life!" |

Yay for #38 on HAC! Breaking into the top 40 is the first step. BTIKM enters the Top 40 on Hot AC -- that is news in my book. (and numbers) This is the week that really matters --- now if the time to request. Just cause it is so nice to see.... Station Rotations On TW lw +/- 24 stations 8.6 6.3 +2.3 These are good numbers --- entered Top 40 and will be there for this weeks official chart (up from 42 last week) on 24 stations, and getting played an average of 8.6 times a day per station. That is OK for a song that has just been added by so many of these stations. So does this mean that now the song is doing good and might be a hit in the making? |

WELCOME noreaster!! So pleased to have you join us. I used to visit TWoP regularly (enjoyed the snark during AI seasons) but the Adam negativity just got silly. I don't frequent other Idol-centric sites for the very same reason. mys*&@^#r ""Ooooooo, so that's how it looks from the side and back!!!!" HAHA! That's my theory too! I'm thinkin' he looked at some of those photos - the "pink" carpet ones pre-performance were particularly lulzy  and said "AH HELLS NO!!" ...and I'm thrilled to see the move up the charts for BTIKM! I'll be doing my requesting shortly! :D

I'm kind of curious about when Adam decided the original album shoot, with the shaved sides, was not the look he wanted and switched to Lee. I am guessing, that after he saw the EMA performance, he said something like, "Ooooooo, so that's how it looks from the side and back!!!!" ;D haha...I think you are right. And Lee's camera loves Adam. The album cover is incredible. ETA- I go to Adam's thread at TWOP regularly and add my positive comments and ignore the haters. Act like they aren't even there even tho they are constantly baiting Adam's fans. I think ignoring them and praising Adam is the best way to tick them off. hee. ;D |
