I just looked on TM directly and it says the sale starts on Apr. 1 at 12 am. If I go thru live nation redirect it says March 31 10 am. So I’m confused. Also, for me in NY the resale limitation doesn’t exist, so scalpers will be the first to get all the tickets. They did mention that a couple of states have laws preventing them from limiting the resale to face value. How can they claim that resale limitation other than through Ticketmaster itself? Scalpers will just go to Stubhub or elsewhere and scalp away. It has never been "legal" to scalp and I don't see how avoiding a presale will change that! They could put a couple of sections available only to those with a code...whether Queen/ Adam or Amex....and that does not have to relate to resell restrictions and tickets could still all go on sale at the same time. I am surprised that ALFC just upping the price of membership would then ignore the main reason for fans to purchase said memberships!! |

They are restricting resales to only face value so scalpers won't be able to profit. When Tickmaster does the flex pricing that increase benefits the artists unlike the resale price hikes. They stated they are trying this method because by contracting for the tickets to ONLY be resold through the face value thing that should prevent scalpers from buying tickets. To me that is why no presales. Fan club presales weren't guaranteed any better pool of tickets then all the gazillion credit card presales so I think this is actually worth a try. I think the fan club presales made a big difference, I believe that fans who pay monthly for the fan club should have the chance for first pick of seats. It also meant less people clogging up ticketmaster at the general sale. I fear many instances of tickets in cart that disappear. |
