I thought the Texas thing said performing as a female and with makeup and dress in front of children. Adam does not perform as a female. He performs as a man and rockstar who wears makeup and he doesn't try to present himself as a woman. I thought they were trying to find a clever way to go after drag queens or transgender tho that is not right either. I think it would be weird and a stretch to say performing with QAL with makeup on would put Adam in the trying to pass as a female category in Texas.
OT:
I was watching my favorite soap last night and they had an African American woman perform at their gala. Her voice was so moving and impressive that I thought she sounds like a real professional singer and not just an actress playing a singer. So I looked her up. She is a singer who was a lawyer and only went professional after she was 40. She has been on a lot of night time shows and is going to be in some big concerts. How refreshing to see someone starting to get noticed with a great voice. No need to dance half dressed or parade around with a weak voice. She said at first she thought she would not have a chance because she did not fit the mold of the cute R&B girls. But she is doing well enough that she has stepped away from her law career. When you can get people to take notice without the gimmicks that is a big deal in this climate. I hope she continues to do well because I love a great voice without all the antics. Everyone does not need to play to the teens and youngsters. There are adults who love and want to hear good emotional music so if there is a lane for her that is wonderful.

I haven't read the actual bill, Lurleene, but it says something about men wearing makeup in public. That covers a lot of ground, not just drag queens. A lot of men wear makeup, gay or straight. Their own hero wear pounds of orange makeup...will that include him? It's altogether ridiculous and I doubt that it can be enforced. What's next...women not allowed to wear pants in public, because then we're defined as drag queens too? I doubt these laws will survive any lawsuits.
And nobody was implying Adam is wearing makeup to pass as female, or perform as a female.

Maybe I misread and got it wrong but I did not get the impression that they were going after wearing makeup without the performing as a woman part. Then why did anyone think this Texas rule applies to Adam? I'm confused. But I hope it doesn't put him at risk in Texas.

Three days ago my daughter asked out of the blue "Can we go to an Adam concert?" I explained that QAL is touring this fall, but not coming to Vancouver. Then I started doing math... So we are going to the second QAL San Francisco show on Nov 9th, combining it with some sight-seeing. The TicketBastard experience was acceptable, except I clicked 3 seats for $60 each in the section I wanted, but the page had the Platinum option selected by default and tried to sell me $1200 worth of tickets in the checkout. I had to go back and click a pre-selected option which ended up being around $100 each, but in a better location. CAD 409 after all fees and taxes. I did some envelope breathing during the queueing, and got pulse readings of 75 before, and 77 after the purchase, so I guess it went rather well. It was harder to get Expedia to give me reasonable flights, but I ended up under my budget of CAD 2000 for 3 people for 3 nights downtown (half a mile from the arena), direct flights, and concert tickets. My daughter who had no idea what I was up to did a "floss dance" in the living room once I told her the outcome!

These laws are just so ridiculous, people need to get a life and stop picking on others who are not hurting you. QAL has two concerts in Texas. I doubt they will cancel, just hope Adam's security is in place (I am sure it will be). I wonder what they will do with their news anchors - people on TV, male and female, have worn makeup for years! UHMM, I wonder if self-tanning cream counts, or cologne (men's after shave). What a slippery slope.........I am done and disgusted.
