twitter.com/barbls23/status/1658338576659095554The AmfAR GalaThe biggest and most glamorous event held during the festival that takes place beyond its parameters is the annual AmfAR Gala, whose proceeds benefit AIDS research. Held at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc (also known as the venue for Sofia Richie’s much-discussed wedding) in Cap D’Antibes just outside of Cannes, the gala gives celebrities and festival attendees the chance to escape the bustling nature of the town in favor of something more exclusive and secluded. Still, the event always manages to capture our attention, with flashy red carpet looks and celebrity appearances. This year’s event, which will be held on May 25, will be hosted by Queen Latifah, with Halsey, Gladys Knight, Adam Lambert, and Bebe Rexha all set to perform.

So, I guess the new American Idol will again be country. Iam may not actually be country, but close enough. I was kind of hoping for We Ani. But, I knew she wouldn't win. Not the type, although phenomenal. I hope she has a record deal. Kind of reminds me of Adam's year.

Adam was spectacular on AI last night. Looked and sounded great! I wonder if High Drama will spike a bit again like it did when he was on last time. It was a real coup for him to get two performances and the mentor job on AI.
So excited about the Cannes Film Festival performance, too. He is really soaring very high!

It was a clip show that did not get widespread notice or watched like a regular show. Ryan did not even announce it after the Sunday show. And hardly anyone knew Adam would be performing. So probably not the spike that he got before. But you are correct, that was a real coup for him to mentor and perform twice. Such a wonderful performance and he rocked and he looked stunning. I love the way he is looking again. But more important, I think he loves the way he looks and you can see the confidence and spark and sexiness again that had been missing. And such great and stylish outfits. I am thrilled for him. Judging from his latest performances, I think Adam might have been serious when he said he had accepted that rock is his calling. I sure hope so. Many can sing the watered down pop stuff, especially when they surround themselves with dancers. But few can do what Adam does when he throws down vocally with an emotional ballad or when he rocks and moves organically. He commands attention with nothing more than a band and maybe some background singers. HA. That is why he is the frontman for Queen cause just anyone cannot sing their catalog. So bringing that style to his solo work is a smart move. He gave his performances of "West Coast" and "I Can't Stop the Rain" both the rock star treatment. Loved it.

True, this performance was pre-recorded. But maybe some viewers will take a peek at High Drama anyway, after watching Adam belt it like no one else. He does look fantastic, full of cnnfidence, no holding back. I like just about all of Adam's music, but I agree that the rock sound suits him perfectly. Hope he keeps it up. I keep wondering about that new song that is a collab. Can't wait to find out WHO?
