lurleene, that comment Adam made, "I wasn't there to make friends," says volumes about his professional focus and his knowledge about what it takes to make it once the show is over. Adam knew this from the get-go. He has plenty of friends. His fellow contestants were not in that group, although he got along with everyone on the show. Adam knew what was at stake and that it was going to take lots of work. Plenty of winners on AI have not gone on to be huge stars (although some have had decent success.) It's not the winning. It's what you do after winning that counts. Voting for your favorite Idol is easy. Supporting who you voted for after the show is over takes effort, and that's when it really counts. We Glamberts know how important that is. We've been doing it for years. Adam was noted by other contestants as the resident "counsellor" ...he did care enough to empathize and assist other contestants. Some sought out help/advice from Adam re choices of songs /personal stuff etc. Hmmm...only one...maybe make that two contestants that I remember not mentioning anything about friendship or advice from Adam.

Did you notice that celebritynetworth.com now has Adam listed as having a net worth of $45 million. peace&love I did see that in a post. But, I often wonder where do these publications get their info. I am always skeptical. He could be "worth" more or less.

You're right that Adam was very helpful and generous with his advice to his fellow Idols during Season 8. They all said so. And they became friends while on the show. I guess my point is that Adam didn't intend to make lifelong friends on the show. One exception would be the girl he dueted with and who joined him on his FYE tour. (name escapes me). But I think he knew that his aim was set much higher and when Idol was over, he was off and running.

Did you notice that celebritynetworth.com now has Adam listed as having a net worth of $45 million. peace&love Yes I saw that. Most publications always quote celebrity net worth for musicians, actors, rappers etc. so nice to see. They are sometimes slow at updating so he is tied with Kelly Clarkson for 2nd place for Idols. But I'm sure when she has her next update, she will pull ahead again as his was just recently updated. But Carrie, Kelly, Adam and Jhud have always been at the top for Idols for net worth so good for him. And girldrummer, I agree. Adam was very generous and helpful with his fellow contestants but not the same as forgetting why you were there and what you wanted to get out of it. For Adam it was a career and he never lost sight of that. When he was off the show, he concentrated on building his career. Some of them keep trying to hang on to one another as if they can't find a way to stand alone and fight for what they want and being on Idol was the highlight.

I added my comment more for newcomers to realize… Adam was really well liked and appreciated by “most” of the contestants in his year. Exactly…. folks can be nice and helpful to others, yet not are seeking close, life long friendships. ….and what Lureene said in the above post!

Well, the ultimate (current) wgwg is englisch, Just to Point that Out and that "Genre" certainly has IT's legitimacy doesnt mean IT has to be everyones taste.I guess There' a myriad of reasons why they win so often. Very cool that Adam got to do two Performances on Idol! I'm looking Forward to that colab Song soon! Good point. "Storytellers" that can also sing seem to do well on Idol and in general. I have come to understand over the years that connecting with audiences goes beyond vocal capabilities, and it clearly rings true for a show like Idol lately. As for the overall music scene, Taylor S. is another prime example besides the "English wgwg". I am not a fan, but I can see why she is so successful. She is authentic in her artistry and she seems to be a very good song writer. That's one genre amongst many and I think we can agree that even the most popular artists can't be liked by everyone. Adam's "Believe" comes to mind right now. The viewing numbers just went up organically as people felt something. (ironically, the Muffin Man is still riding that wave. Quite the phenomenon haha)

Loved that little sexy strut Adam had when he finished "West Coast" and the smile was golden. And maybe I did not notice them before but it looked like the Idol band was enjoying rocking out with Adam. HA. There were probably thinking, FINALLY someone worthy cause they were really getting into it, lol.
