Adam Lambert Turns 30 and Celebrates By Giving To Charity

Today is Adam Lambert's 30th birthday, and he has chosen a special way to celebrate. Last year when he turned 29, he encouraged fans to donate money to help provide clean water for those in the world who must go without. Initially, he hoped to raise $29,000 and ultimately his fans contributed $323,803. This year Adam Lambert is encouraging his fans once again to celebrate his birthday by supporting the movement to provide clean water. So far fans have donated over $23,000. Head to the Charity Water site to join the campaign.

Adam Lambert is gearing up for the release of his next studio album Trespassing on March 20, 2012. The first single "Better Than I Know Myself" is already out and was released for mainstream pop radio airplay this past week.

Wow! Charity Water is over 26,000 in just over 24 hours. Adam's fans are amazing!!!

I'm having to speed read threads at the mo because I have a RL newspaper deadline pending, but I had to comment on the Fault picture screw up.

It was sadly me who originally brought that picture to Atop one night after I saw it fly by on twitter. The Mods very quickly recognised it, deleted it and PM'd me. And I replied....

I just saw the twitpic float by on my twitter feed from a well known Adam fan and using Adam's NYC 'wiping his brow' pic again and thought the background was just some industrial type environment. #massivefailapparently

I'm so sorry, I live on the other side of the world, post WW11 and the horrendous events of that time. Whilst I am aware of the dreadful and heart breaking history of those times, the reality of those 'events' have always been very removed from my RL every day 'life'. I have always tried to avert myself from images and the 'evilness' of those times, so have very little clues to visual images from that era.

Please advise, should I apologise on the daily thread? or apologise to the person who complained directly via a PM??? I am happy to do either, or both

I have been mortified with guilt ever since, but was happy that the atrocity seemed to have been buried - until today and have been grateful to see that a number of other peeps also didn't recognise it as well.

It may be inconceivable to many in the US and Europe that that image was not instantly recognisable to all. I'm sorry, but all I saw (until it was pointed out) was brick walls and barbed wire, aside from that it meant absolutely nothing to me at all.

Honestly, all I saw was one of my favourite pics of Adam 'shopped' into yet another background

There have been many atrocities committed around the world over the ages and I'm sure that if some random photo like that was posted from a prison, say in Uganda or Rwanda, or..... wherever and you had not personally been involved in it/with it, would you 'instantly' recognise it's origins, or care as much.

I am not in any way, shape or form negating the atrocity that was the Holocaust, I am just pointing out that perceptions and realities for some can differ when you live in other parts of the world that were not so seriously impacted by these events.
