I enjoyed everything Adam gave us today, with the exception of WWFM (I'm so over it). I did read the thread, and would like to take exception to one comment that I know was probably made in frustration. I don't even remember who said it-- that Adam didn't give his all because of the placid audience. With respect , I believe Adam ALWAYS gives his all. It's one of the things that makes him truly exceptional as a singer and as a human being. OOL brought me to tears. BTIKM was gorgeous and his interpretation brought out nuances i hadn't heard before. Fever-- funky and fun and sexay! Need them all on my ipod!! And Trespassing? Wowowowowowowowowow. I'm actually quite happy we didn't hear the entire song. I want Adam to be able to debut it when he's absolutely ready for it to be out there. It's all about HIM. Not us.

I had a question for you about BITKM. Did he change the key? It felt very different to me, and at times off. Especially the chorus just before the bridge. I figured this was the only place where I could hear him not being in top form vocally, but I am wondering if it is just that he changed it around so much. Yes, the key is dropped by two whole tones. The studio recording is in Bb and this version is Gb. (Smart move for live acoustic performances on a grueling PR tour.) As for the chorus, it sounds very different without the layers of vocal harmonies in the backing track. The only harmony is Kevin's voice. The original had three, four and more part harmony, building with each repeat of the chorus. He was a bit wobbly on the pitches in the very first phrase of the song, but the rest was close to pitch perfect. Just a very different vibe in the lower key and without the backing tracks. More mellow, less brilliant in tone. Is that what you are hearing? I think so. Overall it sounded slower and more of a sad song than the other versions. I was guessing that this is what was throwing me off.

I am very pleased with the parts of the concert I did hear. Me too!! A first acoustic outing..no sleep..all day interviews..Adam must be exhausted. Whole different gig for a new band. WWFTHEM? We've come from full-tilt boogie GN, live Leno, Ellen...so acoustic is a huge departure for our eagerness. Yay for even hearing a snippet of Trespassing..hope Adam enjoys that massage.

As with everything that Adam does, it's a surprise. His renditions are so varied that in my case, I need a moment to gasp, tune in, and adjust to what I thought I would be hearing. Then, I have to listen again and again. I always end up completely entertained and in awe of this man's talent. So, this was his third public performance of BTIKM and we have now heard it 3 different ways. Amazing. Truly amazing.

I thought Adam was amazing. I read through the thread before I listened and expected the worst. The crowd was not nearly as bad as I feared. They were listening! These were acoustic songs not dance party songs. I loved the bluesy vibe of fever. OOL is hauntingly beautiful and I CAN'T WAIT for Trespassing! Loved the snippet!

I think it bodes well for Trespassing that even in that laid back crowd, with an acoustic version of a song no one had heard before, people were dancing almost in spite of themselves. There was one guy in the back who was INTO it.
I know I had the Deskchair Inadvertent Boogaloo Bounce going on...

Can someone remind me who has credits on Trespassing-the song. I love.love.love it. Even got that sexy Elvis curled-lip sneer werking. 8-) 'Trespassing' -Dr. Luke, Pharrell Williams and songwriter Bonnie McKee. (Press Party) Byron Cooke's review: TRESPASSING : The title track [written by Adam & Pharrell Williams] is BANGIN! Really feelin that “We Will Rock You” inspired opening rhythm, the bass lines got an “Another One Bites The Dust” feel to it and theres a really cool guitar hook. Best line has gotta be “Wait till ya get a load of me”. Theres a breakdown part near the end just straight Adam vox and drums..no bass. Sick.
