Did my mediabase requesting this morning on WDCG-FM and what do I see? They have added WWFM back on their playlist of current songs. This radio station put WWFM on their playlist in Jan 2010 but did not play it at all until it had reached it's peak and Adam was on Idol. They then played it sporadically for about 2 months then never again. It disappeared from their playlist about Sept 2010. IIHY got a shorter playlist time and even more infrequent spins. I've been requesting BTIKM 2-3 times weekly since early Jan by writing the song in and it has still not appeared in their playlist. Could they have got the songs mixed up? It's a Clear Channel station. Does the station broadcast the American Top 40 countdown on the weekend? WWFM was played as part of that (as an "extra" whatever that means). I believe the mediabase list of songs is autogenerated, so since they played the song once as part of the countdown it would show up on the list for a few days.... Yes it is a AT40 station. Thanks for the explanation and that explains why it was on their playlist when they weren't actually playing it in 2010. What a shame Ryan didn't play all of BTIKM on AT40 this weekend as that would have got it on all of AT40 playlists.

I like BTIKM. And it makes sense to me to have it the first single out months before the album. It resembles WWFM, the song that has the widest recognition factor, the song he got a Grammy nomination for. It's RCA's message: Remember this guy? Well, he is back! More new music to come! Frankly, musically and vocally, I think it is a better song than WWFM. A bigger range from low to high, soft to intense. It builds a stronger arc. Love the lush harmonies. And it can fit with HAC and top 40. Once the "pump is primed", then you give them the incredibly catchy, funky, new direction "Trespassing", just when the album is ready to drop. Zap! You got them. At least, that is my totally uninformed take on things. For me, it's all good. (Well, except for the "wait until March 20" thing. )

It's a Clear Channel station. This will happen on many stations -- all formats -- Adam is back, fans are requesting his new song, they play his biggest hit. It is a good thing!! Also spins of IIHY are back up again. Airplay is airplay and it all is great. ETA: Flail about Trespassing -- but request BTIKM!! I just did my daily request at z100 & q102. They have add WWFM back at the Z100 but I haven't seen BTIKM yet. Do you think they're going to add it today? since today's the add day eta: Just saw that 93.3FLZ has not add either Adam songs yet :(

Kinda OT, but I've been thinking hard which song does Trespassing resemble? Actually, I woke up in the middle of the night and had a mashup of Trespassing and Barkley's Crazy going on in my head, so I know what you mean. There isn't a song in the world that isn't derivative of something or another, it just isn't possible. /shrug Haha I had exactly the same experience, only with Trespassing and N.E.R.D's She Wants To Move. Pharrel songs getting mixed up in my head. :

I did not get to flail with you yesterday and had to catch up. Wanted to give you my impressions too, but of course, Craazy cannot write anything short, can I?
So, I hooked my endless post at the end of yesterday's Snowcase thread and if you are interested you can make a detour and find me as well as a few other later additions to the concert thread back there in the last few pages.
All others can just bypass here.

Great googly- I just love that song but I love BTIKM equally as well b/c they are 2 different types of songs w/different messages. It's all good - very, very good.

This is something that has bothered me for a while now... Why are you all acting like BTIKM is a bad single or something like that? I think it's great and everyone was so excited when it came out. What happened? I don't think BTIKM is a bad single. I like the song and I think it bridges the gap between WWFM and this new album sound (from what we have been told about it). I have faith in Adam and RCA and I think they made the choice they did after careful consideration. It probably will turn out to be the right decision in the long run. But, Trespassing, IMO, is one of those instantly catching, infectious tunes that really hooks people in. Maybe they want to save that to tie into the album release which I think is pretty smart. Maybe the intentional leak of Trepassing has something to do with Pop Queen Madonna since both music video and album release on the same date/week. Am I right ??? Comparison and speculation is good. Well, IDK what I am talking about. Noreaster Borrow your slap face gif, I need double dose ;D
