From RCA ED: OK, so as some of you may already know, the #1 GNL DVD accumulated 16,853 units sold in the U.S. in its first week, including the 8k sold directly to U.S. residents through AO). Feel small? Welcome to the shrinking DVD market, where the #2 title (a version of Les Miserables that debuted with 9k units sold last week) sold 7k units this week, the #3 title (Celtic Thunder) did 2,500 units, and Numbers 4 through 13 did over 1k units, while everything below that never touched 1k. Nevertheless, this is an amazing achievement for Adam and the Glamberts, as you’ll see from our upcoming front page press release, which confirms that GNL had the biggest single sales week for any music DVD released in 2011. Unfortunately, Soundscan doesn’t supply data for NON-music titles released, so I can’t tell you how GNL compares to other DVDs falling into other categories like movies, TV shows, children’s shows, etc. While we’re chatting sales, the FYE album sold 1,525 units in the U.S. TW (this week) and now has 807,534 altogether. 12,333 individual tracks were sold TW, 3,181,962 to date. The AL EP sold 248 units TW and now has 26,319 to date. 1,363 individual tracks were sold TW, 34,160 to date p.s – I find that Canadian sales number for GNL posted below nigh impossible to believe but I haven’t received ex-U.S. stats yet. bit.ly/g8sVBP

About Canada. Obviously, the first numbers were too high compared to US numbers. But, the new numbers seems awfully low. Could they still be wrong??

Considering there were apparently a lot of Canadians complaining that they couldn't order GNL online? Prob not. I'm actually wondering if we'll see an uptick NEXT week.

OMG - what a goof for Canadian sales! And everybody (here & elsewhere) was celebrating. Well not everybody. Now there will be snickering elsewhere. LOL It's still great IMO. Didn't Q3 say anything over 10,000 is excellent?
