SophieB Remember how we were talking about people having careers after X Factor. I just googled Leona Lewis and she seems to be doing okay. I remember she had a big hit here in North America and then kind of disappeared. Anyhow what I wanted to ask about is Calum Scott. The other day there was a television show where Simon Cowell was counting down the best auditions from AGT and BGT. He claimed that Calum was a big star now. What do you think? Hi Happy….yes, I said how few people from XFactor U.K. etc made it big and then left out all the people who did!  Like OneD and Leona. I think, like Adam, she isn’t a chart topper but has built up a very respected and busy career. As regards Calum Scott (someone else who came out as gay later in the day) he seems to have a bubbling under sort of career but not a major star, after a very successful first single. Just shows how difficult it is to retain momentum. I think Adam has managed to retain that after Idol. He’s a bigger name now… and more visible. The only thing I ever see of Calum is when he’s singing with someone else…like at the Capital summertime Ball he sang one song in a DJ set (DJ I’d never heard of ) and at the Coronation concert he did a a song with Take That. Both times not impressive at all. They needed Adam - whose voice and presence at the Summertime Ball left everyone else in his wake. 👍 |

I guess Simon still has hopes for Calum's career! Yup, the old one hit wonder syndrome! I think a lot of people here put Adam in that category. There is a guy who works in the meat department at my grocery store who seems to love singing the opening line of "What Do You Want from Me." Whenever I hear him singing it I wonder if he even knows who sang the song ... or maybe he's a Glambert!  |
