Since we keep talking about it all the time, it would be kind of interesting to be a fly on the wall during some of the Adam/management talks...whether they talk about the direction of his music...pop or rock or otherwise. What the vision is for long term. I just think it would be interesting to understand some of the reasoning and logic behind some of the decisions. What?? I'm not being nosey...just like research lol.

lurleene, thanks for reminding me that LNX was not yet "out" when he won his Grammy, as was true of the others you mentioned. Adam took that leap from the beginning. It doesn't take long for most pop-rock stars to reach their peak and then get eclipsed by the newest kids on the block. They all know that fact and they try to adapt. Adam was in his late twenties when he was on Idol. It might have been a blessing. He had done a lot of stuff before Idol. I think he has a very realistic attitude about getting older in the music business. He's trying to diversify when the opportunities arise. He accepts praise well and doesn't gloat about it. That's not his style. And it's absolutely absurd that all the artists you mentioned have at least one Grammys, some of them a boatload. Yet, Adam, the one-in-a-million voice who is a Gift From God, has one Grammy nomination. One nom, no wins. Insane. I keep hoping that Adam's biggest chart-topping, barrier-breaking mega-hit is yet to come. Just to clarify. LNX and the others were out when they won their Grammy's. They were not out when their first hits were already at the top of the charts. They didn't struggle for radio play cause no one knew. Adam has a tremendous career without ever having much radio support so that speaks volumes, imo. But chances of getting a nomination if you are not on some chart are slim to none but it is much easier to chart on the non-pop charts. The thing I remember about Adam's nomination was he was up against Bruno Mars for pop male artist before Bruno became so big. When some were making predictions on who would win, they said Adam Lambert should win but Bruno will win. Bruno did win that one then so many more as his career really took off. Then they put the male and females in the same category and it was next to impossible for Adam to get a nomination then with the pop divas dominating and making room or maybe one or two males, lol. Funny because the male often pulled off the win cause the women were cancelling each other off unless you were Gaga, Adele or Taylor.

Only 3 guys have won since the combination was made in 2012. Pharrel Williams in 2015, Ed Sheeran in 2016 & 2018, and Harry Styles in 2021.

When Ed won one of those years and he was up against all females, the fans of Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Kesha had a meltdown, lol. Even Kelly and Pink voiced their anger. Bruno was smart, when he could no longer win or it became difficult in pop categories, he submitted his work to R&B and won a shit load of Grammy's. He/his team read the room correctly and adjusted. The pop divas were dominating in pop when they merged with the males.

twitter.com/4evrmomof4/status/1701674220164411568Sheeran appeared alongside the likes of Dua Lipa, Jonas Brothers, Stormzy, Niall Horan, Anne-Marie, Tom Grennan, RAYE, ArrDee, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Adam Lambert to help promote the radio station. The campaign, called 'Play Capital', included a 30-second film shown on TV and in cinemas, as well as on digital screens and buses, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X, formerly known as Twitter.

Oops, you're right, lurleene. Actually, I knew it correctly but wrote it incorrectly. Those artists were not out when they had their first big hits. All this sexuality-strategy crap seems so out-of-date now, but apparently the game still has to be played in order to break through.
I have a love-hate relationship with the Grammys. They get awarded to plenty of "deserves" but they are given to far too many "undeserves." JMO, of course. The trouble is, those darn things do carry a lot of weight career-wise, deserved or not. They have a huge cred factor. The fact that Adam has even one nom is often mentioned when he is introduced.
