Stepping carefully in to numbers thread......
I was just thinking, and this may be an unpopular opinion, but could it be...possibly...maybe....that RCA knows what it's doing?
The song is moving slowly/steadily on HAC - today it is 34 with an increasing bullet and it looks to have a path to 30 soonish if spins only pick up a little. Nowhere on pop yet of course, but also no US promo to speak of yet at all, and seemingly little effort from the label. And yet, the album is moving up on Amazon (to 29 this morning), the song is creeping up on iTunes (312 today), over 1 million views of the video already, constant worldwide press and trending for something almost daily. And so far anyway, nothing but glowing reviews of the music.
I of course have no idea whether this was the planned/expected path....maybe not and everything was expected to shoot to the top on its own from the beginning - god knows it would have been easier on all of us if it had!! But Adam is not yet the kind of artist so I doubt it, and nor has he been put on the typical Idol promotion path of every morning/evening tv show that will have him for a period of six weeks and then prayers for an Idol slot before disappearing from view. In short, I am actually of the opinion the this might in fact all be going quite well... Not sure what these happy pills I'm taking are but I'm going to order some more!

But now that I've seen the video I understand how the purpose of this song is to set things up for the album and the duality. I think there IS a big picture plan so I'll try not to panic at the numbers and just watch with interest. |

I'm hoping your thought on RCA's plans for era #2 is correct. I find myself becoming optimistic even though the climb is slow because it IS climbing. The MV should help (currently at 1,055,498!) and his visit to NYC next week is so important. Z100???? |

From News Thread Interesting because as far as I can tell from mediabase, as of Thursday, he hasn't jumped up, so he probably is up some and sales are helping! He is not in the Hot100 but he must be moving up. |

In HAC, with the recurrents removed, he should move up to at least #32 tonight and, with increased play, could reach top30 by the end of the week.
