Cool clip on thst showbiz show, thanks hoopla1! Wal, I just watched your clip, I didn't really understand Simon's response about Adam, the Clay response was pretty clear though...ouch WTF Eton's nanny? Is this Simon reverting back to his idiotic gay jokes? Interesting he said it takes about 7-8 million to launch a record.  ETA: Morning Zinnia! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIDGET!  Simon's reference to $7-$8 million is.... Sony agreed to pay $5 million prize plus the debut album. A debut album with promotion is #2 million to $3 million. So that is $7 to $8 million. Glad he said Adam could be on the show. |

As I understand it, Idol is high on the 18-49 years old demographics... I think this group would have the buying power to pick up or download a music that catches their interest. If only one million of those viewers that are Non Adam fans would be enticed to check out his CD or even download some of the tracks , that would really really be a good sales boost. It would be exciting to see how the numbers rally. Now for the most important question : What will Adam wear and his hair, his hair.. .  |

So Simon actually said Adam could audition. Probably just banter unless Adam reallllllllllly wanted to be on it, which I doubt. Which raises an interesting question. Could multiple labels sign him. If in this odd scenario Adam won could he be signed to SYCO or would some contractual obligation to RCA/19/Fuller prevent Cowell from signing him? My take is that Simon wasn't prepared to answer the question -- Unless they change the rules -- Adam can't be on X-Factor unless Sony drops him. You can't be on X-Factor if you have a major label contract. I think that is why Simon quickly mentions Reuben because Reuben does not have a major label contract -- neither does Clay. |

Laura Saltman and anything about Idol... you always feel that Adam will always crop up in the conversation... that girl will probably name her child Adam even if its a girl.
And Simon... well his eyes sparked and said Yes Adam can be on the show, he probably thought, hey, I should put Adam as guest on initial broadcast....
Would 19Management allow Adam to guest on XFactor USA ? Their timing would be right about when Adam's single and Album are out.....
