www.theimproper.com/music/4567/adam-lamberts-mercury-rising-joining-iconic-rock-bandAdam Lambert's Mercury Falling; Not Joining Iconic Rock BandBy TheImproper, February 5th, 2012 American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert sent temperatures soaring when he intimated that he was joining iconic rock band Qeeen as frontman, only the second since the death of Freddie Mercury. But guess again. “The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*****g great songs,” Lambert told the UK’s Daily Star. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.” .... .... But Lambert was either misinterpreted or over-hyped his deal with Queen. He later issued a retraction on Twitter and blamed it on the Star for reporting his comments out of context. Lambert said he was only talking about his performance at the EMAs, not a tour. Or could it be that he was just trying to get some publicity for his new album,Trespassing, which debuts March 19? “Trespassing is much more of an album, not just a collection of would-be singles like my first record,” he said.

But I want Dark Adam with blue eyes -- I do not want "brown eyed" Adam. And Green or Purple would be OK for me. Maybe even Black or Yellow or Orange. But not loving those brownish eyes. I read the colour of eyes as a metafora, Dark Adam having the eyes matching the world of Light Adam and Light Adam having the eyes matching to the world of Dark Adam. Just me ..?

YAY! Thank God, I was starting to feel like a crazy person when everyone else here seemed to only like the Dark Adam So nice to see that I'm not the only one who prefers Light Adam!! I think I said yesterday that I want to drink with Dark Adam but wake the next morning with Pottery Barn (light) Adam. If he can sweep, he can no doubt fix me breakfast. . I love the REAL ADAM, full of duality - angst, joy, anger, love...all of him... any one side - is not COMPLETE ADAM, not the one I want to see and feel !

Hello, everyone, here on Atop :D This Sunday afternoon, which is not normally my favourite part of the week/day, has just skyrocketed to blissful heavens when I learned that I have a whole WEEK OFF WORK because my country is literally paralysed by snow. Oh, free time!!!Oh, pure unlimited leisure !!! I wanted to say something about THE VIDEO :D All interpretations boil down to the same Light Vs Dark, Yin/Yang, Freudian Id/Ego/Superego thing, which is all true and correct and perfectly illustrated by this: I have a problem with the "Versus" part. The Light and the Dark Adam are not opposed to each other, or against each other in any way. To me it's obvious from the start that they are connected in some way and the mystery gets resolved by the end of the video. They communicate all the time. LA wants to play w/ DA, ball, chess, whatever... He likes DA, they both obviously have this urge to interact, he's reproachful and goes all "mother hen" with his tsk-tsking on DA. It's not the first time DA's been misbehaving:) All DA's tantrums are directed towards LA. He hates LAs puritanism, his "goody-two-shoes"iness and wants to corrupt him. Here's your book, I'm ripping it apart, you annoying little f***er, like he says. They annoy, but they don't hate each other. Far from it. But they are also physically connected, in spite of the thin glass dividing them. They share air, through joined air pipes. They are one , and even if they wanted, they couldn't live without each other. Which they don't want to begin with. The minute DA realises he's going to kill LA with fire induced lack of oxygen, he saves him. But he's also saving himself, and he knows it. It's not so noble a gesture as it is an intelligent one. If LA dies, he dies, too. The final image of the "third" Adam where DA and LA merge is not the ending of the video. It's actually the beginning of the whole story and the video just elaborates on it. Explains it. He's not the "third" Adam, he's the only one. The gorgeous, knee-buckling, stunningly handsome one. And if the different-coloured-eyes thing isn't a wink to Bowie, albeit a far-fetched one, I don't know what is

nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2012/02/adam-lambert-gets-sassy-over-queen-rumor.htmlAdam Lambert Gets Sassy With Reporter Who Started Queen RumorBy Andre Tartar Yesterday, the Daily Star, Britain's top purveyor of quality fact-checked journalism, announced that Idol alum Adam Lambert would be the new face of Queen at this summer's Sonisphere Festival. Rolling Stone (and Vulture) picked up the story but, both clearly suspicious, branded it a rumor, which nonetheless continued to spread like wildfire online. Until last night, when Lambert took to Twitter to set the record straight and clarify the deep respect he has for sensationalist media folk: "Oooh them clever reporters takin my quotes outta context ... I haven't confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMA'S. " Lambert performed with the iconic rock group at last year's MTV Europe Music Awards. Six minutes later Lambert tweeted, "That being said, I'm truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions mr journalist!! " If it weren't for the smiley faces, we'd totally think Lambert was sassing the Daily Star reporter.

Here's a review of the London Showcase from Unicorn @ UK Lambrits. It is posted on thier site.
Also, Angelina Kalahari was there, and will also write a recap, I will post it when I get it from her.
Enjoy!
UK Showcase Review - by Unicorn
I was fortunate enough to attend Adam's London Showcase with my Glam Nation travel buddy Claire and the wonderful Etty & Angelina. We arrived at the Arts Club in Mayfair around 5pm. The venue could not have been better - beautiful decor, intimate stage and a free bar! The doors had not been open long when we arrived, yet the room was already almost full. If there were any no-shows there can't have been many, as the room was packed. There were around 50-or-so attendees from magazines, radio and the record label, mainly milling around the bar until a guy from Sony appeared on stage to introduce Adam.
The Sony guy asked everyone to move forward to gather around the stage, so we obliged and went to the front but stood behind two excited young children who were there with their parents. The stage was tiny, with just room for Adam's stall, the band and sound equipment, so it was just as intimate as having Adam perform in your living room. The Sony guy gave a great introduction, quoting Brian May’s comment about Adam’s voice 'reaching out with sensitivity, depth, maturity and awesome range and power that will make jaws drop all around the world. The world of rock has a bright new star,' as well as giving some facts and figures that we fans already know and take for granted, but to a lot of the press and media who may not be as familiar with Adam's music must have sounded incredibly impressive!
Adam then appeared on stage (on time!) wearing a stylish black outfit and subtle make up. As much as I loved seeing Glam Nation Adam in his rhinestones and glitter backed by dancers and lasers, it was wonderful to see a stripped-back Adam with a simple set and chance to let his vocals shine. I was concerned that after a week of solid press interviews in Germany and the UK, Adam's voice might not be at its best, yet he did not dissapoint. Throughout the set he sounded flawless - I won't go into techincal details about his vocals as I'm no expert, but I spoke to Angelina about it afterwards and she had such wonderful things to say about the voice which I'll leave up to her to describe! The sound in the room was top-notch, and apart from one comment to the sound man Adam appeared happy with it too. I've been at other shows where the sound has been less than perfect and noticed Adam getting annoyed with his mix, but thankfully the Arts Club didn't let him down. The atmosphere was fantastic too - being an industry showcase I was concerned the crowd might lack that electricity normally found at a gig full of fans, yet Adam clearly had a number of press converted beforehand who were down the front getting very excited, and even the more reserved people who may not have known much about Adam beforehand were paying attention and getting into it. People were swaying and dancing to the upbeat songs, as well as respectful and not talking loudly over him during the slower songs.
He started with Fever, which had a really fun and energetic feel to it even without the usual dancers and backing track. Next up was Outlaws of Love, which Adam introduced with some touching comments about the uphill struggle of the LGBT community, which he called 'my community'. His vocals were haunting and he added some stunning riffs that need to be heard to be believed. Again, I'll leave it up to our resident vocal expert Angelina to sum it up properly!
BTIKM sounded really good acoustic. We were particularly impressed by Kevin’s piano and vocals and how they blended so well with Adam's, which we told him about at the bar afterwards and he seemed very touched to hear! This was followed by WWFM, which we've all heard so many times now but still managed to sound fresh. Then Adam closed the set with Trespassing, and all I can say is OMG! I hadn't yet listened to the version from Austria so it was the first time I'd heard it, and speaking to others afterwards who had heard last weekend's version said it was very different - perhaps because the crowd and energy was better in London so he could get more into it. Adam was clearly really enjoying himself as he performed it, standing up from his stool and dancing/shaking to the beat and getting the crowd to along. Even acoustically it has a great groove to it which got everyone dancing, so I can only imagine what the album version will sound like! The lyrics were very catchy and clever and the best part was the grunting/heavy breathing sounds Adam makes in the second half of the song - Trespassing is sure to be a fan favourite on the next tour!
After the performance was over, most people stuck around to mingle (and make the most of the free alcohol!) including Adam who was busy networking with various media people. Knowing how vital this opportunity was for his success in the UK, it was so nice to see such a huge group of important people all there for Adam and clearly buzzing about it afterwards. We chatted with various media people, all of them echoing what press have been saying throughout the week after meeting Adam and saying the same things - great guy, great music, great voice! We met a journalist from Fault magazine who had been involved with Adam's recent photo shoot, but would not give away any hints about the shoot other than that he'll be wearing very different clothes and it's going to be amazing Before we left we said goodbye to Adam and congratulated him on a brilliant performance and wished him well for the future. Before long he's sure to be back in the UK, playing these fantastic new tracks to a bigger audience of fans and gaining the success in the UK that he long deserves!

Q3, Dark Adam is only for Adam fans.... the Light Adam is for mainstream America... ;D ;D.. so everybody's happy Hey, wait a minute, I LOVE Light Adam!!! I love variety Adam, so Light Adam is the novelty right now. We've seen tons of Dark Adam and I love that too, but the Light is soooo damn beautiful!!! I totally agree. I am fascinated by Light Adam. How did he manage to emote that whole inner half smile/angelic feeling of goodness without really having some kind of dorky half smile and feathery wings? It's amazing and beautiful. I have watched all his videos a number of times but this one, I cannot go by any BTIKM video link without watching again and I am not even a huge fan of BTIKM, at least that is until now. I am compelled to go watch the video yet again and in case anyone else has the same affliction .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lg31XQR22zg&ob=av2e

"Is he wearing the blue-green or green-blue plaid?" "Are those his faded Levi's or new ones??" Is that a new plain-white T? (Of course, now no one else can wear plain-white Ts again. Adam wrecked that too. Sorry, Levine :-/)

www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/03/adam-lambert-queen_n_1253305.html?ref=entertainmentI was just reading this article again and the comments. Only a small amount of comments pro Adam... so if you don't want the rest of your day ruin by reading these comments on this article, stay away. It's nothing homophobe but still they're Freddie's fan. LOL.... and for them Freddie's the Voice, just like for some of Adam fans, Adam is the Voice. "different strokes for different folks"... though for me both of them are the Voice coz I'm a fan of both and also a fan of the band, Queen. ;D So a lot of time it hurts when people comparing both of them and it hurts when people don't even consider what Brian & Roger wants :-/ I just read all the comments (33 pages!!) and found them interesting. Yes, there are Freddy fans who believe that QUEEN was just Freddy and no one can replace him. There are a few that go so far to say that Roger and Brian should have retired when Freddy died and say they have no talent. There are only a few OTT Adam fans claiming he is Freddy's reincarnation or that he was sent to take Freddy's crown. But on the good side, there are only a few homophobic comments (comments are moderated to some extent and some have been deleted so that may be why.) And the best part, are people commenting that the writer should check his facts, add a question mark to the headline, etc. I think the writer should also attached the video of EMA performance so people would see before they commented. What make me mad was a few of them prefer the sounds alike (copycat) Martell then someone that's not trying to be Freddie. ohh well..
