In the continuing analysis of the minutia of the BTIKM video, have we chewed on the chess knight symbol yet? Adam has a decorative one (sometimes bookend) on his shelf - and it gets quite a bit of air time. Then when light Adam pushes the game board forward - he's not offering to start a game - it's a game already in progress (though it seems like light Adam has gotten more moves lol) and apparently while LA is deploying his pawns, Dark Adam has played his knight - the wily knight. And DA's large decorative knight is white isn't it? Purely aesthetic decision or recognition of LA as respective shadow self or acknowledgement of presence of dark/light in both 'rooms'. (No, I don't think it's that deep but I enjoy the guessing game.) This video is like the book 'Animalia' both lovely and providing hrs of entertainment searching for things. They made the large white knight on DA's side very prominent at the beginning of the MV. Amongst all of the darker, sharper imagery on DA's side, why the white knight? My take on that is that it forshadows DA being the savior... the 'white knight' if you will....  OOh I like the foreshadowing! My first thought when I saw the chessboard LA pushed forward was that we was cheating! How could he? DA is having a bad day already, could you just give him a chance to win one? ;D I always thought of the knight in chess as a bit of a rebel who is the only piece who doesn't or cant move on a straight path or in one direction. He has to move two spaces in one direction and another sideways. Veeery sneaky. The knight in a Tarot book describes him as " representing eagerness, action, movement for it's own sake. Without some grounding influence all this excitement can dissipate itself as he tries to fly in every direction at once. The knight is just beginning his adventures and lacks the assuredness of the King and the awareness of the Queen." There's a lot more but it seems to fit. |

I LOVE that he isn't all in black but wut are those pants? LOL. Oh well at least better than those weird cut off sweat pants type pant things. Pretty sure these are the ELLEN pants. I like them! :-/ |

Oh, btw, my last post was in no way a criticism of anything you said, noreaster. I actually agree with most of what you said. That was me having a pet peeve, bug-up-my-ass moment.  No offense taken, but you're sweet to check! I was being too all-inclusive, that's for certain, but it just seems like in an era of news = celebrities entering rehab, the real reporters are thin on the ground. Should watch BBC more! |

He has to move two spaces in one direction and another sideways. I like this. Maybe like the knight, Adam feels that his progress/success can't be a straight line as much as he would want it to be. It drives him crazy that for every forward movement, he must also go sideways or even backward, unlike others whose path is clear and straight. But like the knight, he knows that he is not easily cornered or blocked and that he will achieve his goals. |

I'm glad someone else noticed LA seems to be sneaking in moves! lol - but then I thought that dark Adam seems to be a more likely chess player so maybe he's been trying to teach light Adam who just isn't getting it at all but keeps beaming at him and asking to play again. Combine that with the fact that dark Adam's room is so cold that he can see his breath and he apparently doesn't even get an area to make warm tea & popcorn and I'd be pissed too! Also, so agree on tarot - in fact didn't say it at risk of exposing yet more of my dorkiosity but I was thinking that in tarot terms - to my mind - Adam would clearly be represented by the Knight of Cups - both light and dark (reversed). |
