But was it after 10 Central time? It was the same problem Adam had. It was like 3 minutes before 10 Central for Adam, even though it was almost 11:00 for every other timezone ETA: I think the Beach Boys lip synced Yes, Same situation except Adam simulated something a little more risque! ;D It wasn't the same situation as far as time goes. Nicki came on after 10:00 central time. I live in the central time zone and her performance started after 10:00. (not that I think 3 minutes should make a difference... >:( )

Just a couple more comments on the Grammys. > I am still surprised/unhappy that they did nothing special for Amy Winehouse. > The Alicia Keys + Bonnie Rait "At Last" tribute to Etta James is worth watching if you missed the show. Thank you for the tip, Q3. I don't have time to watch the Grammys right now, but I checked JHud and Adele in Youtube, and now Alicia and Bonnie while pounding the keyboard away working. Adele also got the cover of Vogue! This is OT, but since we were talking about Adele just now. It's quite a triumph to get on the cover of Vogue, and I love it when they have other than models and actresses on the cover. Vogue's cover stories are usually also quite good. It's here, but I didn't have time to read it yet (all that pesky work): www.vogue.com/magazine/article/adele-one-and-only/#1

They made sure that Nicki's performance was after 10:00. The Parent's Council or whoever it is that usually complains won't have a leg to stand on. The rules change after 10:00 at night. : But was it after 10 Central time? It was the same problem Adam had. It was like 3 minutes before 10 Central for Adam, even though it was almost 11:00 for every other timezone ETA: I think the Beach Boys lip synced The Christian Evangelical Right organizations were the ones who organized the complaints about Adam. They do not usually concern themselves with Catholic Church affairs. The Catholic League (the largest Catholic civil rights organization) is likely to issue a statement about this and go back to the big issue -- explaining that contraceptives are evil and fighting with Obama. The Catholic League has learned that if they make a big deal out of these attempts to be blasphemous, they just get the performer a lot of press. Whatever else, almost no one liked the performance. Check out the commnets: www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/click-track/post/nicki-minaj-grammy-performance-perplexes-fans/2012/02/12/gIQAOGq19Q_blog.htmlETA: Regarding the Beach Boys -- I do not know if they really sang or lipsynced but just seeing Brian Wilson on stage, alive and performing is wonderful. A brilliantly talented but challenged man. He is responsible for Pet Sounds one of the greatest and most influential albums -- more info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pet_Sounds

I don't particularly care for Nicki Minaj and I thought her performance tonight was terrible!

That is how it's done! He's quite the showman still - which show was it that he performed at where Adam left early (to meet Sauli), and Mick was the show stopper that night, too? Unfortunately, it was this one - the grammys where Mick closed the show. Adam left early and missed it. I'm sure AFL thought it was worth it, though! I'm sure he did, but *I'M* still a little annoyed with him for that. I wanted to hear him comment on Mick! And of course it's all about MEEEEEEE.... : I missed most of the Grammys tonight, but caught the last 1/2 hr. or so (?), beginning with JHud. She made me cry. I thought her performance was very emotional and touching. It was so upsetting to read about Whitney Houston's daughter being rushed to the hospital today. My own daughter and I have been through a lot together, and that just really got to me. So terrible. Sorry that I missed Adele's performance. But caught her acceptance for album of the year -- that was fun. And Paul McCartney, who I once loved as much as I loved Mick, was...*ouch*. Missed the earlier performance, I'm speaking of the beginning of the finale. I almost turned it off! But glad I didn't --when he came down and joined Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen and the others...THAT was kinda fun. And suddenly Paul looked 20 years younger than he had a few minutes before, lol. Kind of loved seeing him onstage with Dave Grohl. But...yeah...Mick last year was way better. I haven't been able to watch all the interviews, etc., lately -- grabbing one here or there when I can. I thought that Adam's red carpet interview yesterday was a little more tentative than usual. To me, he seemed a little unsettled by the tragic news. Understandably. His look was somber, but appropriate. I actually like him with a little more eyeliner (and a little less eyebrow) but he looks great anyway. And the pic arjanwrites tweeted, with Adam's intensely focused look toward his interviewer (?) -- as someone upthread said, yeah, THAT's the look. And finally, an opinion (minority opinion, I think) on something posted way upthread that I noted as I was speedreading through the thread -- I think that Neil looks EXACTLY like Leila, especially in the shape of his eyes and his smile. Adam definitely has Leila's nose and her face shape, but he's more of a mix of Leila and Eber -- especially around the eyes and mouth. His eye shape is more like Eber's. I'm always surprised when so many people seem to think that Neil looks like Eber and Adam looks like Leila -- to me it's pretty much the reverse. Different perceptions!

Actually Bonnie and Alicia sang "Sunday Kind of Love", not "At Last". It was really great. Thanks for this, will seek it out.
