I'm older than Adam, but I'm not "old". I enjoy the new EP very much and listen to it constantly since it came out. It's fun, it's energizing, and Deep House and Lube are really good IMO. My two cents: I feel some people here are angry with Adam, maybe for releasing music that doesn't take his old time fans into account (although I'm the proof that this isn't quite true). And they express their anger in different ways, some are aggressive, some passive-aggressive, some sarcastic, etc. And I don't take into account members that never posted until there was a chance to stir the pot – something which happens every time Adam releases new music. I work at a museum, so my first thought re the JC comment was this: if a viewer sees something that bothers or offends them in a work of art, they don't ask the artist a make their art differently. Every aspect of the artwork is part of the artist's meaning, and it's up to the viewer to decide whether or not it's worth being exposed to. Beautifully said katycake.

It feels dishartering to read complain about Adam´s work from same people the same thing every day. I get it they don´t like it, move on.

You don't like it, don't buy and/or don't listen to it. And if it offends your religious sensibilities, for sure don't listen to it.

This is all so sleezy. And I am not a religious person. But who cares what anyone gay or straight is doing in the bedroom? It reminds me of those stars who brag and over share about their sexual encounters with their women conquests. Mostly male athletes, actors and musicians go down that road. Well at least Adam is not naming names like some of those jerks. But I guess it is only fun to name them if they are famous too. HA. But if it is for the good and of interest to his community, maybe others should just leave him alone and not hassle him or voice their disapproval to him. He is viewing it as judgment of his sexuality and he seems very angry when others are not enjoying this. I don't enjoy seeing women always twerking on the stage and acting like strippers and that has nothing to do with anyone's sexuality either. You don't have to put everything out there because you can. Then get upset and defensive when it is not met with glee and approval by everyone. I have only listened to one or two songs once so if it is not your cupa then ignore. But I guess it is hard to ignore when he is posting the lyrics and fighting on social media. HA. But this is not an enjoyable time. I wish him well with this but this era can't end fast enough. I think Adam knew this wouldn't go over very well with a portion of his fan base, but he took the chance and put it out there anyway, so he shouldn't be surprised when he gets push back. I personally don't care for the in your face attitude that Adam has been showing lately. I stayed away during Pride Month thinking I could avoid the June attitude and activities of Adam and his friends. I feel like in the beginning of his career I remember Adam saying that being gay was only part of who he is, but lately it seems like it's much larger part than ever before. My neighbors are gay husbands and Adam is even to much for them. They say he fosters the perception that gays are all hanging out half naked in bars and have sex on their mind all the time. These two guys are late 40's one is an attorney and the other is a high school principal, exactly the opposite as Adam and his friends. I've actually become good friends with them and enjoy their company. If you don't agree with Adam he usually accuses you of being homophobic or ignorant. I know I'm neither of those things, I just have my limits of what I'm comfortable with.

I enjoy the new EP. So my comment wasn't about the EP at all. It was about his second comment, that I felt was uncalled for. I believe the first one, with his explanation and the person thanking him for that explanation should have been sufficient. But, he has deleted this, so as far as I am concerned, the conversation is over.

Adam is a real talker. We all know that. I think sometimes his verbosity gets the better of him. He gets on a role sometimes and reverts to attack mode when it's really not necessary. Then he tries to get a bit nicer at the end of a tirade. This is a sensitive subject for him, and Lord knows gay people have been persecuted forever and still are. He wants everyone to be more accepting and tolerant. Usually, he sets a good example, but sometimes things get the better of him. If you put out an EP like Afters, you shouldn't be surprised when you get some flak.
I like the sound of the songs, but I didn't buy the album. Looks like lots of listeners world-wide are loving it and buying it. That's the recognition he was looking for, I assume. Mission accomplished.
A Cabaret pill would be a good antidote right about now. LOL

But this is not an enjoyable time. I wish him well with this but this era can't end fast enough. You wouldn't know it wasn't your cupa unless you listened! He is overly defensive about negative comments, yet he wants evryone to be themselves. This only makes me think he is getting enough negative feedback that it is a sore spot. Don't know. No thanks. I've heard enough with "Wet Dreams" and "Lube" and "C" was never going to work no matter how fierce. So I do know it is not my cupa, lol. Don't care for dance/EDM music from anyone. For me it is a waste of a good vocal talent and suited better for the less than talented singers. But I get that others like it and feel otherwise. It is an EP about his sex life. Some of the visuals are just crude and tasteless and not sexy, imo. Not interested in the sex lives of anyone gay or straight. And I have little interest in Oliver or Adam's young friends and their dress-up and clubbing obsessions so why would I want to hear music influenced by them and their escapades? Adam himself said if it is not your thing, don't listen or buy. Not my thing. So much anger and defiance from him defending this project. And I don't need a play by play of his sex life or needed him to prove how gay he is. So it is a downer for me. My support for him remains high. But it has always annoyed me when people judged his community based on what they do in the bedroom. I have always had the opinion that just like straight people, they have and enjoy sex. But that is not the whole of a person and all that they are so get your mind out of their bedrooms, perverts, lol. They are about more than sex. This EP to me says otherwise. He is inviting you into his bedroom and party lifestyle and sorta the bedroom of his community as well (which some may not want). Not sure how this is helpful or advantageous to his community. But this was something he wanted/needed to do and the message he wanted to convey about himself and his community. I hope it works for him and is successful but I'm passing on this era. And hope to see a more mature and balanced perspective from him and his music in the future.
